It's all good, I guess I'm saying there are some guys who are purists, I'm kind of one of them. I do things the way I want to do them, or I won't do them at all. I have a car that sat around for 20 years because I couldn't do it up to my standards. When I finally was able to, I did, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But this is just me. For those who can find a way around it like putting a Chevy motor in, if they're cool with that, that's all that matters. Everyone needs to do what makes them happy and what they can live with.

20 years? You are a crazy purist lol. I'm going insane after my Cutlass sitting for 4 years.

Don't kill me but If you can't decide on SBC or SBO go with a 20B because they sound crazy lol. OR you could just flip a coin???

 I think anyone on here would rather have a small block chevy in their Olds rather than a piece of sh*t rotary!

go Olds if you care about the 'purist' side...go Chevy if you want limitless options with your build. from top to bottom my Chevy 350 build will hit me for roughly 2500...with all new EVERYTHING on top and the bottom. 410HP. Do that much HP with an Olds and it's gonna run you bro..I could've saved myself 500-600 buying used heads and intake and carb but i like being able to return stuff if needed..

13btt all day

Hmm. When the hood is closed and you are driving around, can anyone REALLY tell the difference in a blind "taste test"?

you can tell at an idle witch engine it is,the olds b/c of the center ports on the heads [exaust side] are not divided completely and the exaust pulses mix giving it a mellow sound at idle nothing like it. vhevy 350's are like a$$holes every body has one

Agreed, the Olds does have totally exhaust note at idle especially. I have owned both, pulled a tired sbc from my 78 1/2. Put a high mile, good running Olds 307 vin y. With the 2.76 gearing and fairly tall tires, that 307 killed both sbc 350's. The original ran good but would only hit 90 mph floored. The stock 307 with only a glass pack would bury the speedo and more power everywhere else. The sbc doesn't run well with awful gearing, like Olds does.

sh*t rotary? sounds like you may have had a bad experiance with a rotary.. What happened couldn't catch it in the top end  I love all 3 motors so I'd take any of them I could get but that's becuase I like Imports as much as Gbodies and don't care too much what motors in it as long as it's another Gbody out of the junk yard. UNLESS it's a ford, dodge or honda (If some one could possibly hate their car that much) motor
