I bought a kit to do it. You have to pull the radio and splice into the amp wires running from the amp to the cassette deck.
Then you can either drill your faceplate on the radio and install the input lead there or in my case, I just have it coming out of the back of the radio and through my center console to where the ashtray used to be.
You can still use the tape deck but if you plug an iPod or other MP3 player into the aux port, it will cut out the tape deck and automatically let the MP3 jack have control.
I know there are quite a few guys selling radios like this already done on Ebay but it's tough to find an Oldsmobile specific radio. Most are Chevy's, Pontiac's, etc. So for $40 and maybe a half hour of my time I just modified my own.

I guess I am not following, is there an add-on that allows that, or do you have pull the radio and have it professionally installed? I was a professional installer back in 88-90 but a LOT has changed since then. I have totally lost track of what's available for factory stuff.
