I'm sorry I have to LOL. You went to Wal-Mart and nobody helped you. So you left. That's nice! Half the people I know would have had security called on them, cuz they would have last their damn minds in there. I can hear them screaming and cursing already.

lol i know thats not how most of these stories end right? but i fancy myself pretty level headed. I save all the yelling and screaming for tax time.

Doesn't sound good, maybe, but I always buy used batteries. I haven't paid more than $30 for a battery for over 25 years and most for about $18 or $20 and that includes for my high compression big block cars. I still don't think it costs $30 for a battery with a two year guarentee. Very rarely would I have to bring one back, and they last for years. All of you must have a place around your town that sells used batteries for a bargain prices with a good replacement guarantee. I've also bought them at u-pull-it yards with great success. So, put your money someplace else on your car.

i work at a battery plant that makes all of our military applications and, die hard, oddessy and a few other small applications,
i buy mine from work for about $25 but other wise die hard and oddessy run about 175 which i think is a little high but keeps me ion my job i suppose.

X2! I work at AZ and any time I need a battery, I just check our used battery rack and pay half price for one. Most used batteries come from old NEW ones..(or from people who insist that there battery is bad when its usually the cables or something else).....they just need to be charged up to be good again and they last. I got a Red Top Optima 1/2 off cause it was almost a year old!

And why does freakin' Sears advertise a $59.00 battery and when you go to get it you discover that ONLY that particular part# is on sale and it belongs to a golf cart or something. YOUR'S is $100 or more. In a pinch I can scrounge up a battery by coming back at night and grabbing a turned-in one from the pallet they keep behind the store. As posted above, most are just low on water.

Funny thing is Sams Club, is Walmart... You really rate Walmart any better than Autozone?

The only chain auto store I never had a problem with was Advanced Auto, but I know lots of other people have had problems. I've had problems with AutoZone, Rielly's, Napa, PepBoys, and CarCraft. I work at a Napa, lots of people think Napa is better quality than most other Auto Parts stores. I'd personally invite anyone that thinks that to walk around the warehouse and find a part that doesn't have "made in; indonesia, taiwan, china, korea, etc." on it. All auto parts suck, be prepared whenever you do anything on your car, to do it two or three times because of defective foreign made parts.
Actually, a lot of the stuff we sell is made in the USA 8) I could walk around the warehouse and pull a part from almost every line code that is made in the USA
The biggest thing is that most cars, these days, are imports. So obviously the replacement parts for them should be import parts.

Check your local dealer - I've had great luck with ACDelco batteries (my last one lasted me 8 years) and they are relatively cheap. I actually bought an Optima Red Top when my last one died, but really didn't like the look of that bright red battery in my blacked out engine bay and the $200+ price tag was a bit hefty (not to mention the more I read, the more I heard they weren't all that reliable). I took it back and got an ACDelco replacement from the dealer for $67.

The GTO had a red top in it when I bought it, so I'll have some first hand experience with those if I decide to keep it in there...

I sure like the Oddessy battery for stereo use. Great for the money.

Well i brought my battery from one of these battery refurbish places and it was about 60 bucks and they have a 1 year unconditional replacement warrenty and a 5 year comprehensive warrenty, so needless to say I, drain the hell out of it, overcharge it then drain it again before that year is up. = free battery
