If you took the computer out or your ride didnt have one, you'll need this kit to let the converter know when to lockup. I have a Bowtie Overdrive kit. You can also hookup a toggle for towing and have manual control over the lock up function. BM and TCI have kits. Most trans shops (in my area at least) have some sort of lockup kit if you have no computer and want to run a 700r4 or a 2004r. Mine works off the brake lights. It locks up automatically in 3rd or 4th gear. Once I tap the brakes it unlocks. Here's a link..

i dont know what a "nickel nose" is or if i wanna know what it is. anywho... i gave the garage 200 mor bucks to take care of the oil leak and now they say they might not have to drop the oil pan but eather replace or repair the timing cover where its against the oilpan. ive also been trying to get classic car plates from the dmv.org or whatever website, but its not werkin. now i gotta goto the dmv and do it there. and just my luck there not open on mondays. :blam: so theres that. then after that the shop will do my ball joints and while there in there the front springs too. then im taking it back home and replacing the rear springs and the steering box. after that, we'll see...
 
ok well i said f u to the dmv and went to the currency exchange yesterday and got me some temp plates till the classic car plates come in. i also ordered new rear cargo springs to raise my *ss up off the ground. yay legal! now its all a waiting game with the shop to get the leak fixed and put in my ball joints and front springs. CANT WAIT! :mrgreen:

yesterday i got my elky back! YAY! it runs and starts up like no bodys busness. thats the good news, now the bad news is if i put it in drive, nothing happens, but if i put it in 1st, it goes into second and stays there. im thinking that the center console i put in is messing with where the shifter goes, or its the shifter cable that eather got stretched or is binding on something. or, i could be the lil handle thing that the shifter cable hooks on to on the trans. i also tryed to put on the chrome mirrors o bought because i only have 1 d/s mirror. well thats not gonna werk unless i can get a sheet metal guy to fill in the holes for the manual mirror adjuster. so now my main plan is get the damn bed clear of all the used fluids containers and other garbage that its collected over the years. and get all the parts outa the cab so i can have some one else in there too. so im glad to have it back but no this trans thing is messing with me. i do have a 200 4r in the back of my satty waiting to be build this summer so thats some good news. but i wanna drive it more than down the side streets and around my condo complex. and i wanna do a burnout!!!! 😢 😢 😢 so anything ya guys can help me with is awesome. thanx fer lookin!
 
oh and btw the trans is a th350 thats getting stuck in 2nd.
 
did you change the transmission from a 4 speed to the 350?...if you did and the cable wasn't changed that could be your problem
