no i didnt change the trans, it was a 350 to begin with. i have a 200-4r im building this summer for later.

i have to put it into 1 to get it to even move, and then it in 2nd.

It doesn't sound like a shifter or linkage issue. If you can get it to 2nd, you have passed drive as far as the shifter is concerned. When you say its in 2nd, do you mean it starts in 2nd or you get 1-2 shift and that's it?

check your kick down cable isn't snagged somewhere and that it's working freely and if it's ok check the vacuum to the modulator valve and see if the diaphragm on the modulator is leaking any transmission fluid

:bump:

you're not allowed to bump till you check it out and find out we don't know what we are talking about...

oh ok, well i put the kick down cable which was new in the trans and the shop hooked it up to the carb , the vacume modulator is new, and so are the vaccume hoses and the carb itself.

if the transmission was working properly before you did the work on the car/truck I'd be checking anything you did with the transmission. The modulator may be new but it could be defective...may be a dumb question but did you make sure the transmission fluid is topped up?

well no i didnt, i assumed the shop did, but ill see when it stops pissing outside.
