yeah, 9k miles, im totally cereal! anywho yesterday i was driving my elky and after about 1/2 hour its starts to get pritty hot, like 220º. so i went to the skate park for like 1/2 hour and then started the elky. it didnt want to idle at stop lights and was smoking more than usual. i didnt drive it today but im thinking i have to check my valve lash. it ran fine when crusing but it just didnt want to idle and was sounding funny and smoking. the oil is new and its got enough, so i dunno we'll have to see.
 
a few weeks ago i replaced the brake booster filter and the hose from the filter to the carb and also the hose from the pcv valve to thew carb and now it runs great! the only problem i still have left is wireing. i fixed the problem i had when i turned on the switch for the rad. fan, it causes my gas guage to go to empty and turned on the left turn signal lamp in the dash. now that i switched the ground for the fan when i turn on the headlights the buzzer goes on, the gas guage goes to empty and the dummy lights turn on. so i still have to find the bad ground or where something is sharing a ground. so that all prolly part of the whole bad wireing deal i have going on with my car. this just makes me want to gut it that much more so i can re wire it properly. well theres that. still dont have a cam so maybe ill get some pics later.
 
carb fires are bad...now i gotta do a rebuild...
 
well i was driving my elky around for a while and then i stopped at the skate park to go hurt myself for about 1/2 hour. when i went to start the elky i had to give it gas(usually if im driving it around for a while itll start right up) then it didnt want to idle and when i floored it to get going it back fired and still didnt want to idle. when i was driving it was fine, but a lil under powered. if finnally stalled out at a stop light and i went to take the air cleaner lid off and i burned my hand, so i used a damp towel i had in the bed to take it off and the carb was all sooty like someone took a candle to it and the entire inside of the aircleaner lid was black from soot. so i let it sit for about 20-30 minutes and i watch the fumes from the rear float bowl horn come out, but the front one didnt have them. after a while i got it started and limped it home.i bet i fi try to start it tomorrow itll be fine and work great. i hate this problem, its like the cars ****ing with me. oh and i got a $75 ticket for no wheel tax sticker. so i had to buy the $80 city sticker and then pay 75 bucks to the county. Yay my life... :|
 
ok, well i may have figured out why my car over heats and then the carb catches fire. i have an electric holley red top fuel pump, but no filter or regulator. this my cause my car to run rich which is why after a while it gets hot and why my carb blows up. so i ordered yesterday from jegs a regulator and the gauge.

they should be coming in, inna few days. then ill most likely have to readjust my carb, but thats not hard, it a holly :wink: hopefully then i can drive it till the gas runs out without problems. that would be, as Tony the Tiger says, GRRRREAT!
