Yeah thats how it is with dylans car, always something to work on, we can just never figure out what we wanna do tho lol.

i woke up this morining around 10 am and got to werking on the elky. so i took the starter out and took the lil wire off and followed it to the harnisthat goes behind the dizzy. well part of the harnis was touching the D/S header and i found the red wire and it was burned all the way through. so i cut of the bad part and crimped it together and then shrink tubed it and also taped it. i also made sure no mor wires were touching the headers or were within an inch or 2 of them. well i was looking at the car here at werk(i drove it to werk) and i decided just incase, i should disconnect the battery. so i walk out there an i put my key in the door and the starter just all of a sudden starts going! and im like HOLY sh*t! and i open the door pop the hood and disconnect the battery. so now im at werk with a car that wants to start itself :|

oh and now im not saving up for a cam anymore, ive decided to say "**** IT!" and save up for a painless wireing harnis. this wireing bs HAS GOT TO STOP!

if ya look at the starter and the big wire, if its touching something else on the starter that can cause it to crank by its self. 🙂

ya know what? yer right, i just went out and bent the wire out of the way and it solved the problem. thanx happy face!

Your welcome! 😀

beer....do yourself a favor and use a remote solenoid that's only about $15-20 so there is only one wire going to the starter that's not hot until you turn the key

remote wha...? i just bent the wire that goes from the battery to the starter, it was a flat blade looking thing that was touching th part where the small wire goes. yay prob solved. but i have an other problem, wireing...
here goes...my rear brake lights dont work when i push the pedal, the hasards work, the signals work and even the parking lights work, but no brake lights. so i went and looked at the switch and it has 2 connections on it. 1 i assume is for the break lights and the other is to disengage the cruse control. well then theres a second switch that has a seperate 3rd connection!?! the connectors only fit where they are and cant be inter changed. both switch do work, but do nothing for the lights. heres some pics:

ok in this pic the big white thing is the switch that is on the brake pedal. the grey and black wires are what i assume goto the brake lights, and the the blue, orange, and white wire goto the cruse control. please tell me if im wrong.

heres the 2nd switch, yes it is new and thats the only connection that will fit it. this switch doesnt do anything eather. i tried pushing them together seperately, alternating and nothing doing. so now im thinkin that them switches arent connected to anything. but i also have to deal with this:

1/2 the stuff in there is crap i have no idea what it does and the other 1/2 i tried to figure out what it is and got maybe a 10th of what is what orgainised. so thats where i stand so far, i really dont want to have to run new wires all the way back the the lights to rewire it, i wanna use the wires that are already there. HALP! :soapbox:

found out my car doesn't use the flasher solenoid from the fusebox, so now i gotta think that if thats somewhere else, the problem for my tail lights might be nearby... :? hmmm

found out my car doesnt have 89xxx miles it has 8900 miles. well now that the speedo werks its 9052 miles. does that mean its worth more?!?!
