yesterday i decided to get off my lazy *ss and wire up my converter switch. i took my time and drilled out the holes and then took a file and a rasp to open the hole up and get the corners square to pop in the switch and here it is:

switch on the left is for the lock up, the switch on the right is for the radiator fan. yay, now i can get 8 mpg instead of 5

i havent been on here in a while due to new job and trying to befriend a GF so things i have done in the past month are: replace water pump, flush coolant, and got some new bolts for the rad. hold down, and a new radio.
new water pump:

new bolts:

then i also installed a CB radio my friend had laying around, it had a PA slot, so i went to radio shack and bought the largest one they had and installed it under the hood.

today i decided to replace my old front shocks, and BOY! what a difference it made! the hard part was the passenger side one, i tried to use just a pair of line lock pliers and a 9/16" offset wrench and quickly rounded out the 1/4" post of the old shock and then had to cut the nut off. after that my buddy went onna 1 1/2 hour search for a replacement nut. finnally got the new nuts and did the swap which took no time at all, even had time to replace the bump stops. but HOLY COW the car drives WAYY different now and bumps arent such a jolt anymore. heres some pics:
old bump stop:

yay progress! ...or something...

yeah, tell me about it, a few days ago i was driving by the house and it starts running really rich, so i look under the hood with the engine off but the fuel pump going and the back 2 barrels are just spewing gas and flooding the engine. im thinking all that time with no fuel filter has come and bit me in the *ss. im not positive whats wrong, but ether the float bowl is stuck down or the needle is stuck open. anyone else know of this problem? i have an inkling that imma have to remove the carb and take it apart. im hoping that some carb cleaner will help but ill get some opinions before i go in there. whatcha fellas think?

if you think yer float is stuck then try lightly tapping the housing of it with a screwdriver and sometimes thatll free up the float. happened on my polaris 4 wheeler one time lol cept in that case the float was sticking shut lol.

well i ended up taking off the rear bowl and takingit alll the way apart and blasting it with carb cleaner and that did the trick, for like 2 hours, then the front bowl musts have been messed up too because it happened again! so i said fuggit and took both bowls off and cleaned then and now it seems to be running right. also replaced all the clips that holds the inner door pannels on and fixed the sticking passenger door lock. i got some new front pads because the old ones are major toast but im too lazy to swap em out till sunday. so i wont drive it too much till then. maybe...

today after werk i went to try to do the front brakes, and it turns out i need a GIANT allen wrench and a c-clamp. i have none of them. so friday ill try and buy the parts and do it again.

take the fuel line off the carb and plug the line. Start the car till the carb runs out of gas and that will let the needle seat. Then put the fuel line back on and it should be ok. It was probably a piece of dirt preventing the needle from closing and this will clear it.
