WTF transmission not shifting!?

Is the vacuum hose to the modulator connected?

Does it sound like it is going into reverse? These transmissions are known for reverse issues. My 4L60E had a very weak reverse, an incline of any sort was a challenge.

did you actually try out the transmission before it was removed from the donor car or are you just relying on someone's word?

What modulator?

It engages in reverse, I give it gas, it gives me nothing.

I relied on friends word of mouth that it worked but I could have jacked something up when I put the shift kit in.

I came across this.... Sounds like my problem...

There is a valve on the drivers side front that goes to the pump. Its in
front of,not a part of, the valve body. We didn't get the lock ring deal
ALL the way into the groove so when we first tried the car it would have movement in drive but none in reverse. After we dropped the pan again we found out that valve ALMOST fully came out. The butt of it with the ring was at the end of the bore when it should be at an inch in

If the transmission was working before then it should be working now. If the only changes you made to it was the shift kit then I be looking at that to be the problem. If you mentioned that you had put a shift kit into it in your first post I think most of us would have a different response back on page one

I agree that this should have been mentioned from the start. It's a matter of retracing your steps. It sounds like you should be back in business. Good luck!

Yeah, I understand... Should have... But the whole low on oil issue was just that.

Come to think of it, I never took out the pressure valve. The Transgo sk700 does not instruct to touch it.

Took out the valve body... Took it apart and everything is in correctly and moves freely.
Since I never touched the pressure valve, could it be possible it's the tv cable not set correctly, causing it not to move in reverse?
