Your car *WILL* get stolen!

I did the interior siren thing in the '81 after someone tried to steal it. It's not controlled by the alarm, and if you didn't know how to disable it, it wouldn't go off until the ignition is turned on. Simple but effective, and it was very difficult to get to (you weren't getting it unless you pulled the dash apart).

I think I'll invest in one of the Grant removable steering wheel collars... can't steer a car when that's in place and there is no steering wheel attached

i was just thinking of a really ear pearcing loud thing, if you could some how use the alarms in the home smoke detectors, lets say six or eight. hidden around the interior. that would be REALLY loud! i think the speaker they use are pieazo(sp?) speakers. and there a dime a dozen, or so i think. just a thought...

well, the smoke detectors work on a 9v circut, but instead of going off when detecting smoke, it would go off for would be theves. youd have to figure out how to do that on yer own, im too lazy lol.

if they really want your car there is no way of stopping them .they will find a way around it all

X2, If some scumbag really wants your ride bad enough, he'll get it one way or another...... The way the society is today, sucks 🙁 The days of leaving your house unlocked and keys in your car are way over ladies and gentleman.....And if you live in a "Rural" town, say 30 miles away from a "Major" city and you leave your valuable sh*t in your car w/o locking it, when it gets stolen you say something stupid like " We don't live in the city"..SHAME ON YOU !!!!!

i always pull three plug wires out and put them in my girlfriends purse or in the channel on the back bumper and turn the wheels to the left. she gets a little impatient sometimes when we're running late and im in the trunk with a rag and mean orange cleaning grease off my hands.

And my method at home is twice as simple, a pair of boxers that live in the garage, and a jeep parked in front of the door. no way they get it out of there without me hearing them and slagging their *ss.

Have you guys ever thought about one of those gps dog trackers?
Dunno how they work. Will they show location in real time ... probably not very well, but I could be wrong. However, aside from Lojack/Boomerang, I am curious to see what else is available to track a vehicle in real time. Ebay is full of items that use different methods ie. there is one method that uses a sim card from a cell phone plan as it's communication to track the vehicle in real time -- meaning to activate it, all you need is a basic wireless account with your favourite provider.

The thiefs had run the VIN and ordered new keys for the car through a dealer, and simply hopped in and drove away.

Luckily stuff like that for G-bodies isn't on record like it is with newer cars.

If the dealers actually did their job correctly that would not happen :blam: . People think I'm a dick when I ask them for their drivers license and proof of ownership of the vehicle before cutting keys for them, but oh well, I'd rather be a ******* for checking than be at fault for a car theft.

Well then, thank you for being a dick. 8) Seriously, glad to see people proud to do thier jobs properly. Bravo.
