Yesterday was awesome!
I Drug home my 1980 Pontiac lemans that I dubbed The Lemange. It was quite the experience. It was the first time I've hauled a car on a trailer, the first time using our car trailer, and I don't have a key for the car so we couldn't turn the wheels. It was an adventure. More on that later along with a bunch of pictures( it was dark when I got home).
So I don't want to take it off the trailer without being able to turn it. I don't have a key for it. Do any of you know how to disable the steering lock without breaking it? Or a good way to break the steering lock, I'm not worried about breaking it.
Thank you
Ryan Brockmiller.

A locksmith is much cheaper than changing out all of the locks. I don't think you can remove the lock cylinder without switching it to the run position to release it.

Wellston, OK
iF YOU PULL THE STEERING WHEEL, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE LOCK PLATE. tHERE IS A TOOL MADE TO COMPRESS THE SPRING, BUT BACK IN MY TEEN DAYS BEFORE i OWNED SUCH LUXURIES, WE USED A CIRCULAR SAW BLADE AND A COUPLE OF SOCKETS TO COMPRESS IT. pULL THE SNAP RING, PULL THE PLATE OFF, AND VOILA! fREE-UP STEERING.

Sorry, just noticed the caps lock.....i'm not going to retype it all.

Thanks for the info guys, appears that I don't have very good locksmiths around here. They all pretty much told me I was sh*t outta luck. Oh well I'll figure something out. Where it's parked now isn't the best place for picture but I did take a few.
The front bench is pretty roachey and crunchy, also I'm 6'4 and fat so I needed the seat to move back farther. So I ripped it out and just happened to have a 95 Nissan hardbody bench seat lying around. It fits perfect and the mounts are even in line so new mounts will be super easy to make.
Now on to a bunch of cleaning!
