Welcome to the site. Lots of good folks here. Interesting Lemans you have there. I see Ontario plates on it. Are you in Ontario? If so, whereabouts are you? It looks like your Lemans was probably a stick shift car originally. Does the steering column have a key release lever on the right side, just below the ignition key cylinder? The car may have been a V6/3 speed stick car originally, or it might have been a V8/4 speed car. If the car was originally titled and sold in Canada, you can get an information package on it, through Vintage Vehicle Services in Oshawa Ontario. There is a fee for the package though. I have a factory built 1980 V8/4 speed Malibu, and I got the info package on it, through Vintage Vehicle Services. The fee is approximately $110.00CDN. I know its kind of expensive, but it might help to give you a clearer picture of exactly what you have, and how to proceed with it. Good luck with the car, and keep us posted with your progress.

Thanks Rick. The font on the plate lettering looks alot like older Ontario plates. Didn't see the tree on the plates. Thanks for picking that up. Factory stick shift Lemans is a pretty cool car.

Thank you all for the advice. My buddy has a steering wheel puller. So we are going to pull the lock out for now.
Yup Oregon plates. It was a local car . And I don't think it has any rust at all, other then just a tiny bit of surface rust on a couple places. It sat under a tree on gravel. There wasn't really even any weeds under it.
Anyone know if the factory ten bolts came with posi?
And I'm going to order a battery for it today. What size should I get?
Thanks
Ryan

I didn't even notice the Christmas tree plate. Southern oregon car should be a super solid place to start. Your factory manual car is a bit of a rarity. I'd be wanting to collect factory parts to put it back that way if it were mine.

I like the 78 series batteries with the dual post.

This way I can hook the starter up on one and accessories on the other.

Keeps it nice and neat.

Yes there are 7.5 inch rear posi/limited slip from the factory look for a tag on the cover or just jack it up and spin the wheels.

What is the FIFTH number in the VIN that will tell you if it was a V8 or V6

The fifth character is a K?

Me and my neibghor are going to start working on it this weekend. So well jack it up and turn the back end.

Thanks for the battery info.
