I love this build, on a more door even! The only thing that would have been cooler would have been a manual. Was it a T5 that came behind the 3800 in the fourth gen Camaro/Firebird? I am really starting to hate GM autos, all they do is leak and die. Then I have many hours of laying on my back and heaving transmissions around. Hopefully your 4L60E doesn't get the weak reverse like mine or the common 3/4 clutch failure. Get this thing running. I am betting it will beat my Dr Olds Mileage Machine in the mpg department.

With the 2.41, I'm hoping for mid 30s. I don't know the history of the trans; other than it came out of the donor with 90k miles on it. I got the biggest Derale cooler i could- 13x14" with -6 lines...

It's still not too late to take your intake off and paint it up.

not entirely horrible. Conrad had both replacement rails, and the portions which hold the bolts to the body. You can see on his website that you can cut the rail to move it out of the way. Drill out the spot welds and the whole pocket comes down with the captured nuts. Weld in new pockets, and a replacement frame section. I have a full set at work just in case mine is bad when I get around to separating the body from the frame.
