Is the filter in the pan or is that just the imprint?

wow, filter just dropped out eh? does the trans work now?

just for reference, a couple of my 700r4's gave up the ghost all at once also.... drove home, parked the car, couple hours later, get in it and 2nd/3rd and OD were completely gone.... one time, just a quick kickdown to get up a hill, and ended up taking backroads 25 miles to get home, because 2nd never found it's way up the hill...

Close enough. Imprint of the filter. Letting my brother operate the jack, not the best idea beat the pan back flat, all should be good now. Got a new gasket and filter ready to install. Hopefully this solves my woes.

if the oil wasn't being picked up didn't you hear an unusual noise from the transmission and I thought you said you had pressure in the lines....

I hope that fixes the problem

I hope so too. I can't hear a damn thing over that engine. Really should invest in some mufflers. There were no shavings or whathaveyou in the pan. None. Looked as clean (after I drained the fluid) as it did when I installed it.

It looks like it was certainly due for a service. You have more than your fair share of gray residue in there. Hope it all turns out okay.

There was no residue to speak of, the fluid is just kinda dark. When I drained that lil bit of fluid left, the pan was near spotless. ran my finger in the pan, nothin.
