SSpev- thanks. Strangulated was what they said it was and caused all the pain. Then the ER Doc said that if my intestines got blocked bad enough then the waste would back up and eventually cause me to vomit it out. Now THAT is something I can't imagine going through, Pooping out your mouth?!?

One good thing about getting old is the way this world is going I won't have to put up with it that much longer, and on the other hand the world won't have to put up with me much longer....:p

So- all you hernia guys- how exactly do you "push it back in"?!? Right now I have a lump there of what the Doc said was fat. He was unconcerned about it. But he said if my guts came out again to give it a push. And if that didn't work then emergency surgery was indicated. Where do you push it?
Just feel for it, and push it back in. I had a hernia from birth and my parents never had it fixed. I actually had a hole in my lower ab wall and it would drop into my "manbag". I dealt with it until I was 23-24 and just couldn't tolerate it anymore. If I felt pressure I would push it back up. That nonsense kept me from enlisting in the military, law enforcement, etc.
I had surgery and the mesh was installed. That was about 12 years ago. Some days it bothers me being I have a physical job, but for the most part I'm good.

However, that doesn't include my popping and cracking knees, ankles, shoulders from all the sports and hard falls growing up.

Mark, get it done and get recovered!

Cutty- will do. I am already scheduled and going through the pre-op stuff. I actually feel pretty good now that it is pushed back in. But I am not willing to temp fate. That pain was not something to gamble with.

OK guys- I was cut open and repaired. A little sore but not as bad as I expected. Worst part was the 5 hours it took to pee after the surgery before they would let me go home. I am still constipated from the anesthesia too- probably I need a Crave Case of White Castles to knock it loose. Ha Ha! The Surgeon asked me if I knew what we were there for and I replied "To add a couple of inches, right?" He said, "No, but a good sense of humor helps". Then I said "I know my Wife promised you a big bonus if you cut my nuts off- I'll double what she offered!" He said he doesn't take bribes and proceeded to mark the hernia spots with a magic marker. Next thing I know It's lights out and I wake up in recovery with a sore belly. Now I'm home and doing well. No heavy lifting and no bicycle riding until I get the OK. Thank God it's over!

Mark,
I'm glad to hear that the procedure went well. Before you know it you'll be back to your old routine again.
I recall when I had it done, I was in my early 20's at the time. After the surgery they said that if I didn't pee after awhile they were going to stick a tube in my dick. Well, that certainly prompted me to go... The power of suggestion.
