That Altec doesn't have the trunion problem on the bucket does it? Our fleet department cut the buckets off the booms instead of getting them fixed....

not sure yet. What problem should I be looking out for ? Really wanted another telelift to match the other 2 in the fleet but I got this setup for an absolute steal. At least with the telelift you can climb up or down the ladder if something goes wrong with the hydraulics. This one has me in a near vertical learning curve but getting there.

PO said it had the wiring all done :sneaky:. On the bucket it goes down but not up, L&R, boom in but no boom out. On the remote it all works OK. Loads of safety stuff to deal with :wtf: for example you need to hold down a power button then engage the next button to enable say lift or boom left which takes two hands to operate and engages thru 3 relays making it hard to troubleshoot. That is BS ! Time is money so its all getting cut and we will start from scratch to make it really easy to operate and trouble shoot if something goes wrong.
Gennie wont fire either ( PO said its old fuel ) so it's getting set aside to look at over the winter. Will put a good inverter in it's place to charge the cordless tools and keep the beer ( I mean water ) cold in the mini-fridge

I hope he was able to keep the Eliminator. He came out ahead if so:LOL:....I can relate to the obsession. I had both a 70 Cyclone Spoiler J code 4sd drag pack car at the same time I had the 70 Eliminator. That's how I met my wife. She LOVES muscle cars and hot rods. I'm a lucky guy in that regard. The Pontiac wagon we have is actually her car.

No he wasn't able to keep the Eliminator in the divorce. Ths was about 8 years ago and the car sold at one of the major auctions for like $65-70K, if not more. He had about $45K in the restoration and that was too much for his wife and sold it for around that.

The same sad sack (our old neighbor in Omaha) bought a Boss 429 with 18K original miles and sold it for $3,500 back in the early 1980's because he was afraid he might blow the motor and "ruin the value".

The clowns he sold it to chromed it out and made it an ISCA show car, complete with orange shag carpeting in the trunk. I was going on a rant one day about who would do that to a a Boss 429, an he admitted he sold it for only $3,500 to them so they maybe had $7,500 total in it ($3,900 Chrome and $100 in shag carpeting).

Back in the 1990's, my dad was building a Shelby Cobra Replica and got a line on a 427 Side Oiler. The guy also had a '70 Cyclone Spoiler 4 spd SCJ Dad bought for $7,500 and restored:

Stress cracking- pull the bucket and inspect the pivot assembly.... I don't think Altec is doing a recall, but you could probably call them to find out details.

good luck and I guess you already know we need pictures........(y)

Kilcare was great time but HOT!! The best of the best were there. We were there with our friend, and yes that's the Jegs crew we were pitted one away from(pic) Disc Dean(Ohio Street Outlaws) was there and actually won the Saturday event. We didn't fair too well - we were own worst enemy. Never got past 3rd round - 2 double O red lights AND A .002 breakout. Should have won the dash for the cash, .009 package won and we were .002 on the tree and broke out by .001. One lousy thousands of a second.

On my way this morning to go finish up with the head change and start her up I got a flat. I was still in the city so I wasn't driving fast and it felt like I lost a belt in the rear tire. When I took look I didn't lose a belt but I gained part of a sway bar link. Empty the rear of the jeep to get the spare out and fixed the flat when I got to my GP....
