Thanks Jack, its a prototype for my wagon. The 'ol Never Ending Project thread is long locked so I put it here. :)

I needed to see if i can still operate the bead roller HeHeHe
Brian,
A bead roller is a handy thing to have in the shop. You can get pretty creative with them.
The console should look killer in the wagon. ;)

Thank you Chris.
Some of the welds aren't the greatest, but it looks like it will be strong enough to hold up the weight of a fully loaded transmission.
I also got to get back to reading your book. I got some catching up to do.
Thanks again, man.
nice, you're off to a good start with that work stand Jack.keep the book as long as you need by all means.

Indeed it is, most are far more creative than I am. I attended a Jamey Jordan seminar (google the name) and found out first hand what a hack I am.

I did drop the console in the wagon for a test fit today. It's not a great fit, but it will serve as a fine cup holder once my hole saw arrives.
I still plan on a few dimple die holes, and I'm also considering painting at least part of it.
I think the natural aluminum finish is a but overpowering in this car.

Please disregard the dirty mess :giggle:

A while ago I got a q-jet from a friend who ran it in his old Vette until he got the correct holley for his car. It was basically new so I stuck it on my GP a couple of weeks ago. It ran ok but it couldn't have run his Vette that well. It idled a bit rich but ran a bit lean when cruising but overall the GP ran ok and it's near the end of the season so I was going to tweak it this winter. I did try to lean out the idle a bit but of course that just made the cruising mixture lean out as well. It's an old trick is the carb is lean at cruise instead of changing the rods they just adjust the idle to run rich which help the A/F at cruise. I had the GP out on the hyway this morning for a couple of hours cruise. I was going to head out for lunch but the carb was running so lean I limped back to the office. There was no vacuum leak so I ended up turning the islde screw out 2.5 turns and the carb was basically running like it was before it screwed up. Anyway I need to take the carb apart to see what is going on so I put my best carb in the GP and what a blast.......:)

I picked up the headlight switch to install since I was going to install the tack. My headlight switch had issues with the instrument panel lights. If anyone remembers my headlight warning was stuck on so I had cut the wire to shut it off. The new switch seem to work ok with the wire reconnected for the warning chime. I got the switch in and then noticed it chimed with the pariking lights on but not when the headlights were on so I cleaned the old one and it works perfect now so the defective chinese junk goes back for a refund. My plan worked to install the tach, I cut a section our of the housing to make it shorter and it sat in the modified cluster pretty good. I took a piece of tin and cut it to hide and reflect the light and painted one side black. Here's a picture of the 5" tach in the cluster...
