BUILD THREAD 87 Cutlass EFI build: 9/13/23..NEW STUFF!

Thanks man! That wasn't my intention originally when choosing the color. I knew in my head how I wanted the Cutlass to look-mean and aggressive. However, after seeing the factory offered color on a certain car that looked fast sitting still I knew it was the right choice!
I can't wait to see it fully painted and in the sun!!!!
Darin, it's like christmas in October buddy! I'm hoping to get in a full day or two next week wet sanding it and get it closer to full color/clear.
Also gonna talk to the shop that will be doing the final spray to see when we can drop it off. They will most likely have it for a week to work their magic on it! The hotrod jobs they do are stunning! They did a black t-bird for a friend several years back that was gorgeous!!! It seriously looked like you could jump into the paint the color was so crisp and deep!!!
Recently, the Cutlass that kicked mine outside was sprayed by this shop. Meh, not really my choice of color but it's sharp!
Well it's been a week, and another update is due! I was off today, so I spent 5ish hours helping wet sand to get this car closer to paint ready. It's now been smoothed with 360, still need to go over it again with 400 and it will be ready! I realized again how much I hate sanding, but it won't sand itself!!!!
Also snapped a couple pics of a door mirror. They are done and look killer!!!
Lastly, we stopped by the shop that will be spraying it. The true deadline for prep is on. We have to drop the Cutlass off on Nov. 7th for them to wipe it down, tape it off, and roll it into their booth! I'm pumped, and anxious for that day to come!!!!

Lol! The shirt was bought for me, and I don't mind getting it dirty! At least I know the reflectionis good enough in that mirror to see it LOL, makes me more excited to see the fresh paint buried in clear!!!!
I finished taping up the heads in prep for paint. Yes, there are a couple ports left open. I did that intentionally to aid in carrying the heads outside and will tape them up before unleashing the rattle can lol!
All that's left is to wipe down with wax and grease remover, and time it so that the outside temp is above 70°.

Lol, at first glance I thought it was etched into the side of the mirror!
