Negative terminals spark when trying to power subs?

i may be a little confused, but it sounds like you were trying to re-apply the ground/ negative while the positive wire was still connected to the battery? i'll see if i can help. disconnect the power cable from battery and remove the fuse on the power cable... connect all negative/ ground...

With or Without a divider...dual sub box

dividers are very important with sealed boxes. If the divider was removed the sound waves or sound pressure can bounce off one sub and onto the other if that makes sense which can cause distortion and could cause your sub to blow out or wear out prematurly. sounds like a typical prefab box that...

rag joint is in great shape, esp compared to the original lol.. i'm leaning torwards the idler arm being the issue since it was stated that the pitman arm cant "wear out" i replaced idler arm along with the rest of the front end assembly but now that i think about it, could have been over 80k...

    and more steering problems...

Ran into some more steering problems recently when i pulled the MC out of the shed. a few months back it was running pretty straight with slight amounts of slack.. now, Basically im getting a tone of slack in the wheel and have to "see-saw" the wheel even when going 35mph to keep it on the...

how to get clean, simple affective audio

in refrence to the "tline or horn" style box. be careful with those, your measurements and design have to be next to perfect.. they sound amazing, when built rite. build it wrong and you will be replacing a damaged speaker in no time.

    New kid in Acworth, GA

Welcome fellow Georgian! ontop of what the others listed, make sure to take a good look at the undercarrage and fenderwells. if that thing came from up north then it could be rusted out underneath... also, as far as powersteering goes, i'd be scared to drive without it in my MC but you could A...

how to get clean, simple affective audio

the 3.5 inch speakers can still be used if you dont want to go the 6.5 kick pannel route, just buy something of quality. personally ive owned and blown out 2 sets of pioneers. decided to step up and buy some Polk audio 3.5's and Polk audio 6x9's for the rear (needed 4x10 to 6x9 adaptors) IMO...

    turbos for sbc

be careful with the "ebay" turbos, you get what you pay for! i've seen plenty of issues with those cheap headers cracking and welds breaking along with the turbo having a ton of shaft play with hardly any miles on them... In my findings in the import world, many guys say to run away from them...

Whats the best place for front speakers ?

nice place for tweeters- connect them on the sun visor mount, had mine there for years and it sounds great... sadly in our cars there is no "best place" for front speakers, the ones in the dash are poorly placed, kick pannels put sound at your feet and it gets droned out. the ideal situation is...

Lots of play in my steering

I was having this "sloppy" steering issue as well, knew it couldnt be the steering box because it has less than 10k miles on it, i have new bushings, sway bars, shocks and springs ect.... Finally checked the rag joint and it was pretty warped. I considered replacing the steering shaft with one...

    Nascar nowadays....

technically yes it is REAL, not saying it is totally staged like pro wrestling, but it isn't the same as it used to be. politics should not be involved in racing, favoritism shown to big sponsors and such. how many times have we seen a yellow flag thrown for "trash on the track" just so someone...

    Anti theft thoughts....

Even a perfect anti theft device or combo of many devices will not stop someone from pulling up with a wrecker/tow truck and snatching your whole car.. i had a buddy get his 73 nova stolen and it even had a boot on the tire/wheel. security cameras saw a tow truck pull up and snatch the thing out...
