1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Sedan LS Turbo Build

That thing was night and day for me. I had my ‘safety meth’ set to turn on at 162 last month. Made it to 160 for the only run I ran over 30psi. At 25 I was down in the 140’s. My old Chinesium unit would hit 180+ with the meth haha.

A little heavier, eh? 😉
You did the 28" core Treadstone?

1245 -rated R core. It’s supposed to flow another 30 cfm or something like that. Basically it’s the same. I really don’t know the difference, but it I had room for it so I bought it.

I see more pressure drop across than they say - 4.5-5psi rather than 2.5-3. But I’m not losing any sleep over it.

It works and it works damn good.

I think you could lean on it harder before pulling timing on E, but it’s never a bad thing to be safe rather than sorry. You pull at 150, I’m pulling at 165 but have the meth on at 160. Blower guys are waaaaay hotter on E without pulling any timing. Every setup is different and the way to lean on it is at the track by creeping up and checking plugs and MPH (sure you know.)

Ah ok. I looked at that one but didn’t go for it due to radiator caveat.

As close to centered and level as I could eyeball it:

Nice.

Well a month of Sundays later I’m still chipping away here.

IC pipe isn’t pretty, but functional. Who would have guessed Chinesium would be so hard to weld?!

Been there and done that.

I’d love to get a tig capable of welding aluminum, but it is such an artistic endeavor. AFAIC your pipe looks great (for something that no one will see and you’ll be the only one that knows how it looks).

Form VS. Function. Too tough of a battle for me to win with aluminum presently. And FWIW, all I see is fast - I need to step up my game to keep up 😉

TIG welding is definitely an art. I’ll get better with time and practice. Thin aluminum is tough and I need to dial in the settings better.

TIG welding mild steel, I’m halfway decent I’d say:

All the best with the surgery!
