I think LSCustoms was just showing a picture of the backing plates (calliper brackets) to explain what redboy needed to get..
my total budget for this setup was $250, I beat that having all that was required to do the swap at $132... i ordered the brackets to make it a complete bolt on style kit, for under the $250... yes i could drill the emergency brake backing plate and fab a mount for the shock etc... and still can... It was suggested to me to by several people to try out flynbye (which I am glad i did)... if I dont use them, i will have the brackets and either sell them separate, keep them for another car, or sell them as a kit, after mocking them up on my car, to show in the thread how they work... i thought i posted that in the thread somewhere as far as not needing the brackets, but making this bolt onaxisg said:LSCustoms said:FedEx delivered a small package... so another $85 (flynbye brackets) brings my grand total to $217... so lets see if I can get this done, without anything else, even though the pads are looking good, I may go ahead and buy some new ones after i clean it up... but minus that $217 for rear 12" disc brakes isn't bad at all...
I think I am missing something.... but what are the brackets for ( front or rear ? ) I see you already have the backing plates for the rear so why not just use those and drill out the holes to match the backing plate ?

PROGRESSS... good pics skip..LSCustoms said:painted the caliper brackets
loosened tires and put rear on jack stands, took wheels off
took the bottom screws out, loosened the top screws and pried up on the bottom to start the drain of the diff.
took the diff cover off and pull the two pins (smaller and larger one) to pull the axle c-clips, gotta push the tires in on each side to get each clip out one at a time...
pulled the drum out and then the axles...
took the two bolts out off the drum backing plate
pulled the brake line off the wheel cylinder
took a break (no pun intended)
yes easier to do with off i would say, but been easy so far, having an issue with the big *ss bolt on top of the drum backing plate, muthaf--- wont come outL.A.X-RATED said:Just answered my next question if this upgrade is easier with (in my case)have my posi off,as it was recently rebuilt and por-15 bathed  gracias for the "how-to do this for 255" now if i can only employ the services of the kuruption,to sniff these" nessasary parts"we'll be stoppin on a dime in no time
