pulley system mostly completed. It's not a small feat. As soon as you change something, there are a zillion brackets and pulleys combos to choose from.

next up, re-running the turbo oil line and the fuel line now that the brackets are all there.

next next up preparing the engine wiring loom - interconnecting it with the underdash and setting up the computer under the dash.

next next next up, dropping the new engine 🤞

Where did you get your damper? There is a couple other posters that can find correct supplier for the correct harmonic balancer.

Removed the inner fender to access the engine wire loom passthrough. The wires that are in there are for the non-computer engine, 3 wires for the lockup converter. Fortunately, the car remains compatible with a ECU setup - same passthrough, underdash connector, etc.

I ended up removing both inner fenders, much cleanup to come.

I had only a 1981 engine wiring harness for a V6 231, was missing a few wires for a 1983 application - but the ECM connectors had provision for these wires.

So, ended up patching the 1981 harness - was missing the EST signal wire, the ISC wires, and the baro connector was missing altogether.

Now patched.

Engine wire loom is installed, inner fender for the passenger side is in, new coolant reservoir also.. onwards to working on the driver inner fender, already pretty clean almost ready for the install. After all this, well, is the new engine drop... finally!

A bit of a last minute thing - just realized that dowel pins are either missing or cut on the "new engine" --

I'll try to re-use the ones from the old engine, if I can remove them 😉 - wonder why these were not left intact, it's a bit puzzling, really.

Aside that, the engine is ready to drop.
