I bought this nice, correct-color rear lamp monitor from gbf member anubis. No fiber optic were available, so I bought brand new 2.2mm x 3m fiber optic used for audio. Bought from an ebay seller in China, cost 6$ each.

Routed the fiber optic in the rear pillar. One on each side.

Removed the fiber optic connectors from this end, using cisors, trying to cut a clean straight angle. Not optimal, but works ok. Drilled holes through the roofing material.

In the tailing, I drilled a 1/4 hole and used the stock audio connector - looks OK. This is the stock location where the OEM connectors would also be located. No idea what OEM connectors may look like.

The final result.

very interesting. Using cable for stereo use for a gbody. Actually makes sense.

Here's a pic of my OEM fiber optics. I haven't installed yet tho. I'm not sure if you can zoom but the two ones in the back with the black ends are the connectors for the tail lights if I'm not mistaken they just fit really snug into the hole that's drilled into the tail light housing.

Thanks for sharing! I was curious as to what they look like. Was not sure about the exact location of the monitor itself either... placed it where it made thr most sense w/r to the angle of the roof.

Wasnt sure if these would carry enough light, but in the end, they do and the connectors are handy :)

You're welcome...
I think the rear monitor is in the wrong location on yours, I think its suppose to sit farther back almost touching the rear window molding. Theirs another gbodyforum member who posted his. I'm trying to find the pic for ya.

Likely different on a sedan versus a coupe, because there's such a difference on the roof line...

Now that I think about it, is the rear interior upper window molding two pieces? I got these fiber optics housing out of an 83 & an 84 Oldsmobile 98 regency(both 4 doors). The fender fiber optics housings are the same(part number and all) as the gbody coupes but the rear monitor is a totally different shape and location placement.

Got it! 2 versus 4 doors :)

If you have a 4-door unit for sale, let me know via PM.
