1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham

Going from this:

To this:

By doing this (see bottom right light):

Because apparently, GM had condemned the bottom part of the light, because it was used on older models for reverse gear lights ...? I call this bad engineering.

Looks like OEM, all happy.

Installed this OD shift indicator. Ready for the 200-4R I bought a few weeks ago.

Installed the fiber optic light indicators... As sold by GBodyForum member Anubis. Set came with a 1:1 template to position the lens correctly on the fenders. I then punched+drilled holes on the fenders... Tested the location before drilling the BIG hole to route the optic wires.
I need a template so that I can install mine too.

Found this option on a 83 Cutlass. I also got the trunk lid from that car to replace the current rusted/dented one.

Seeing this thread brings back some great memories from my child hood. When I was born my dad brought me home from the hospital in a 1974 Olds 98..., around the time I turned 4(1987), he got rid of the Olds 98 and got a black gbody 4 door Cutlass; not sure of the year. I absolutely loved that car, great times, great memories & great family road trips in it. Keep up the great work, I might try and go hunt down that old car and bring it back to life if it's still around. Last time I saw it, someone had put a 403 in it and was racing it.

Do it 🙂

When I was younger, my father had a 1980 Malibu, and this was the start for me for several GM's I bought as a grown up - several of which were gbody's: 1979 Malibu, 1981 Lemans, 1973 Cutlass and now 1984 Cutlass.

Got that trunk lid cleaned, will then proceed to roughly sand it and paint it:

And the clock is installed and working:

The car now has full GN suspension parts - sway bar, coil springs, shock absorbers - front and rear.

The handling is awesome. And the steering has become responsive. wow!

Before/After. Got rid of the dented/overdone trunk lid.
