Actually I don't think so. It would also burn out any primitive ecm in our cars ,and while they can run without it you can't get it to run without an ignition system and since the HEI module would also be fried unless you converted to points your dead in the water.
Dream killer.

Between work and the Holidays there hasn't been a lot of car time. I did get around to some sanding on the firewall to prep for bodywork.

The nice part I want to save

All taped up and center firewall sanded to bare metal. This is the part most visible, so I want this smooth and perfect.

All the pinch welds, ground strap holes, and wrinkled metal from the factory stamping has to go.

I picked up a pair of 1972 "442" Grill Emblems a while ago intending to use them for the grill and trunk lid. I use a cardboard template to space them out and see how they look in the 87 grill. What do you think?

How they look in a 72

In an 87 grill (not on the car though)

I think the numbers may be a wee bit large for the size of the grill.

Thoughts??

I like the direction of the intent, but yeah, if they were a little smaller, that would look killer.

Not sleek enough for the euro nose.

Yep, a tad on the large side......

Not sleek enough for the euro nose.

Thank you guys. I feel very much the same. I may just go with no front emblems or put the 442 on the bumper cover where the decal would go. One option I may explore is the 72 Glove Box emblem. I think it's plastic, so it may not hold up outside of the car (and may be too small). We'll see. Here's some pics

Funny how I'm picking over this and the machine work on the engine isn't done yet
