I have decided to not send my 1980 Buick V6 to scrap. It was replaced in my El Camino with a 350 V8. It has the non-adjustable weird shaped two barrel which I will not be rebuilding and so Ededlbrock intake is on the list.with and Edelbrock 4 bbl carb. What I want to find out is a cam profile that will pumch up the power without going all the way to Stage 2, and sources for bolt on parts ie headers, pistons, oil pump etc. In the late 70's I had an odd-fire 231 in a Olds Starfire (Chevy Monza Clone). I only bolted on headers, replaced the cam and used adjustable push rods with the Kenne-Bell cam It was unbelieveably quick and had torque enough to pull a car trailer! Anyone who has the article from 1976 about Kenne-Bell? Can the same cam profile work in even fire ie lift and duration? Comp cams does not seem to have an HP cam. I actually want a lopey idle. I would love to hear from anyone who races V6 about mild builds without a wholesale parts exchangest and machining. I want a sleeper and my intention is to find a nicer G-Body to drop it in. PS NO TURBOS PLEASE...been there done that, bought the shirt!
