You don't want that oil pump kit. This is what they say about THEIR OWN kit:

**TA Performance does not recommend Hi-Volume, Hi-Pressure oil pumps for most combinations due to the increased load they apply to the front of the camshaft. This extra loading can lead to excessive distributor gear and drive gear wear, distributor gear pin breakage, and front cam bearing failure.

You won't need the high volume kit on a Buick. What you need is a thrust plate, and the adjustable pressure regulator:

You also need the grooved cam bearing:

You need to go to the right hand section of the web page at the top, and download the catalog. Then you can cruise it when the internet is off.

I wonder where I got the idea I would need a Hi volume oil pump :blam: .. Thanks for the heads up. I just noticed that TA Performance is in Scottsdale, AZ. I might just go have a chat with them 🙂

BTW thanks for the links.

Its because Chevy engines always need them. So, it gets put out there to everyone. Buick, Olds, and Pontiac don't need the same recipe for reliable power. That's why it is so important to talk to the experts.

If you can, ABSOLUTELY go over and see those guys. But really, a phone call will probably get you done.

Good luck man.

I know its not car related, but this forum is nation wide. I am asking for everyone's involvement in this.. This precious little girl has been been missing for a few weeks with no leads. It seems like AZ is not making this nation wide but I am. you never know some one might have seen her or at least its out there to keep an eye out. Im attaching a link to a news clip. PLEASE call this # if YOU think it might have seen her If you have information on Jhessye's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-HELP..Again not a car thread but anything any outlet helps!

So I had ordered the book that was suggested by KrisW from http://www.grandnationalspecialties.com and after a week maybe later it was finally shipped but I was sent the wrong book! I was sent one for 86-87 turbo engines..I emailed him hopefully this gets corrected. On the other hand I did receive a back up book to read in the mean while....I really want that other book though lol

Well, that IS funny about the wrong book being sent, but that High Performance Buick book in the picture will do what you need also.

I see on the front that there will be instructions for the oiling system and the short block prep. Just remember to install the special front grooved cam bearing and you will be set if you follow what that book says.

Good luck man!

Thank Kris..🙂 I had a chance to read a little bit of it yesterday, and it has pretty good info and instructions along with some before and after pics of the oiling mods, it also has a parts list of what I can keep stock and what I should upgrade. Looks like a lot of drilling and dremmel work but should be lots of fun. Melman and myself will be doing the work so this will be a learing experience for the both of us. Update on the other book though... I got a reply from the sender this morning and apologized for sending the wrong book and is sending the correct one.. I hear a lot of good things on the other book so I really want to get that one. This one I got is good but has A LOT more info and tips on the BBB 455.

Well if Melman got that Ttype maybe he will benefit from the info on the turbo V6 motors. Any update on that?

Last time I heard the guy wanted too much $ and the engine was not even put together... but you never know maybe they can make a deal. Were supposed to go look at it tomorow.

Good luck. I recently rebuilt the one in my GN. Most stuff is not particularly expensive or difficult.

PS I took mine from box stock 13.9 at 99 mph to 12.7 at 107 mph with $500 in bolt on parts. And still get 22 mpg hwy with cruise and AC. Fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, hi pressure adjustable wastegate actuator, chip, cheap soft compound recaps, scanmaster, boost gauge.
