Accelerometer or G-meter.

is this a good or bad deal?

GM Muncie M20 close ratio 4 speed manual trans Not sure what it originally came out of or what year it is, from the numbers on it I think it is a 1963 to 1964, date code is P08 08, wide ratio, I can not tell. I drove the car before it was removed, trans worked like a Swiss Watch. No bell housing, no shifter. Case casting number is 3839606, side cover casting number is 3831707, tail housing casting number 3846429, there is also this number stamped on the case and tail housing 103162. $550.00

also can someone help identify this transmission? is it a t10 or an ST-10 (i know it would be the 1st design st-10 if it is an st-10)

thats what i keep trying to tell the guy but he insists its an st-10 so i said for the $750 you want you can keep it. Next

I'm really thinking hard about that m20 I posted above. Seller states it is rebuilt. Pulled it only in opt for a tko500

The M20 is a good transmission that can be prone to synchro issues, but will handle 350 hp or more if healthy. Reasonable ratio spread, overall great street transmission, shifts smooth with a quality shifter.

That early close ratio M20 is great for racing but may be tedious on the street. It is designed for very little rpm drop between gears which also means you need a high ration rear gear just to get going as it probably has the 2:20 first gear. Plug some numbers into this calculator to see what I mean.http://www.wallaceracing.com/calcmph.php I looked at the add on Maliburacing, that looks like a car that was raced/abused and I'm thinking that's why it is coming apart for sale. No one uses a Lakewood scattershield bellhousing on a street car. And his pics of the trans numbers are beyond awful. He also reinforced the Z-bar, so it had a really high effort clutch too. I'm thinking this is a bad deal.
