If all you’re looking for is 310-330 hp then you don’t need a turbo. A healthy V-8 will easily produce that number.I'd be happy with with 310-330 HP, this will be a daily driver for me/my main take the kids to school car and go to work.
I just bought the car and haven't even driven it but everyone online says the 4.3L v6 Monte is slow. Im coming from a 2014 Ford Fusion 2.0 eco boost; for reference. If the 4.3 is slower than that I'll hate it.
I will never talk anyone out of putting a turbo on anything. There is so much talk of how poor the performance was of these cars and what is needed to wake them up.
Several things to keep in mind about boost, every motor made will handle 7-9 psi without grenading if you can tune. And 9 psi will increase your current motor's HP and performance by 50% - i.e. 200hp will become 300, 250 will become 375. So your truck motor program that is a 250ish hp motor will become close to 400. Next is the streetableness of boost. No need for big cams or fuel systems until you
start running 10+psi. A properly tuned stock motor will cruise as if there is no power adder, implying fuel economy will not suffer until the boost gauge starts reading positively (mostly.) And often you can improve fuel economy with a turbo when not in boost. Third, the motors that no one wants such as 260's, 305's can turn your rear tire into a smoke machine with the addition of a turbo.
If you already have a 350, then use it and keep the boost low and you'll be happy. But 300hp, pffffff, that will be a thing of the past lol.
Check with the GMC Typhoon/Syclone guys for what's needed. As for heads, all SBC based V6's can swap heads so as long as you got the right intake (not sure if they had the same changes like it's big brother) to match the heads. What I am swapping for is a 5.7l TBI, because apparently that's the easiest swap for this v6 in it now. If I could get away with putting a turbo on this 4.3 v6, I would, but nobody can tell me if Vortec heads will work on the current 4.3 I have.

I can confirm that the 350 Vortec heads you linked will not fit your 4.3. Satisfied?
