Ok will do if the guy still has itMonte SS trans will have a govenor for 3.73 rear as does the 442. The have a way better valve body than a run of the mill version. The Turbo Buick version has a similar valve body, better servo and the govenor is for a 3.42 rear.
Get the code off of the tag. Seems like its CRF and CZF for a Monte, one us SS the other is with 305 HO
Most defiantly will go to transmission shop to be checked...One time installDimensionally the same, but internals are different. The GN's had all of the necessary upgrades, but good luck finding one. Then the late 442's & SS Monte's were next in line. Most 200's were in underpowered G-bodies or grocery getters. If you have one from a plain Jane Monte Carlo, then it will work, but if you plan to put the wood to it on a regular basis with a 450+ ft/lb 455, then you'll need to upgrade it. Post the 3 letter abbreviation on the tag of the one you have.
