yeah, Ill post up a few pics of the engine. Originally put in a lm4 out of a 2004 gmc envoy. Its the all aluminum 5.3L. Developed a knocking sound and I pulled it. Turned out it was the lifters and not a spun bearing like i thought. Replaced with a lm7 shortblock out of 99 wrecked silverado. Paid $113 for the short block. swapped everything over and has been running good ever since. I am working on rebuilding the lm4 though because I just prefer the weight reduction of the aluminum block. The spoiler is a little project im working on. Its for a 69 camaro. Still havent finished it yet. monte deck lid isnt flat like the camaro. But I like the way it flows with the lines of the third gen. monte.

Its looks just like any other truck engine but I cleaned it up. Painted the block. cleaned acid washed the aluminum parts. I just put in that bigger alternator from lkq so it looks like crap along with my sanden a/c compressor. I really need to clean those parts up. only things done to the engine are mid-length headers, 3in duals with flowmasters, a mild tune and i lightly ported the heads. Plans are to pull it in favor of my lm4 (aluminum block), long tubes, cam, aluminum drive shaft, tune, ram air. transmission is stock 4l60e from a silverado. Rear is stock with aluminum drums but I have my 67 chevelle 10 bolt that is built auburn posi, 4.11 richmond gears, c-clip eliminators, UMI swap rear upa's, and disk brakes going back in She is a totally different ride with that rear end

I have been working on my first car again. My dad bought it in 1982, and gave it to me in 1989 for graduation. It was a v6 car, but now it has a 454 from a motorhome.

What are the odds of some dude in a monte just like the way mine use to look hawking me down to take a look at my car and show me his. Well it just happened and I just had to get a couple of shots of bot cars together. For me its almost like looking at a before and after. Thanks to Jim for chasing me down. I told him about the forum. Maybe he'll join.
