This is one of the cleaner midwest '78's I've seen in a long time.

It's soo nice to be able to say that! Beats 6 months of cussing at a rusty chassis!

if you don't have it yet for the open end coil spring you can use the F body isolator. GM part number 10290379 and you can find them here on sale for $15.24..

Oh trust me, I've paid my dues with rusty cars! I think this is the first g-body I've had that didn't deposit any rust in my eyes when working underneath.

Thanks for the info. Luckily for me, I got everything I needed on ebay from an abandoned project. My GM number is 100195587 though. IIRC, I think there was a design change and one of them was thicker than the other. Don't know which though.

always love the updates but I'll have to say that I've removed two bumper shocks off of two different grand prix's and that same bolt always breaks

My fronts came out with ease. The exhaust manifold studs didn't even break on this car!

Looks like I have to apply some heat & vice grip action now. I soaked the broken bolt in a pool of Kroil overnight to help the process. I'll probably get out there in a little while since it's a crap-weather day anyway.

I opened those L brackets up for a 7/16 bolt cause I use a hidden hitch and plus so I wouldn't have to spend a couple of $$ on a metric bolt.

I don't find that part #

:?: :?:

G-Body_Vet got his parts from Ebay so that could be a discontinued part superseded by another part number

Looking good! I think whoever decided to place those 2 upper rear shock bolts up in that tiny inaccessible crevice deserves to be keel-hauled!
