The lower control arms I had re done for this project are actually on my project 87 SS the #OGIK. Needed to use em to mock up the Kore3 BBK and caliper/rotor setup. So I had another set of lowers sitting around and decided to blast em and get em prepped and ready for the #DtoxBu. These are temps while I save for the UMI ones later. Not in a huge rush to get the UMI upper/lower set since I only see this car twice maybe 3 times a year.
😉
The UMI smoked out bars look really clean and will add some nice detail underneath for those photo opps i love...
Here I dropped the Energy bump stop and Spohn swaybar endlinks on. These arms still need the old tired bushings pressed out. I would have did it at work, but got lazy and I didnt want my boss asking a ton of questions. Just blasted em. I like to take clean parts to whatever shop is gonna do the work. This also lets me see any imperfections in the part so the coater has no excuse if the work isnt smooth and clean looking..
Spohn heavy duty LCA ball joints.. I have some Prothane red boots for these and the tierods..
Added a 90 degree elbo fitting. I'll have the shop pressing em in set up ball joint so the elbo points where I want once tightened for easier access when I need to grease em up..
Spohn sway bar endlinks look clean.
I also picked up some clean DSE control arm shims. hese wont ship until may 11th tho. Been eyeballin' em for a while. Had some extra cash so I copped em..

Did some work on my LoTek triple pillar pod. These things NEVER fit right. I got an old pillar from a friend (Mr Hoodwrench) and cut it up to use the outer lip. Used some harbor freight epoxy amd made it happen. Came out pretty decent and works like a charm now. Hugs and fits like stock now.. Time to give it a bath and some SEM adhesion promoter. Then some SEM landau black..
Molded on lip. Did both sides. I also did the one for my elco. The El's setup came out really clean..
Another little project I tried my hand at. If I like how this looks, I will send the parts out to be coated a gloss finish, and then re-do the film. The glossy, slick surface aides in helping the film adhere to the surface.. After doing the Bu's tail light cleanup, I mocked the covers up and liked how it flowed...I also have a rear license plate bucket made from stainless. It will be coated also..
After the tailight remix
Dropped the tops on after cutting the carbon fiber film. Looked clean. I need to lightly tint the tails. I have a tail light lens kit I got a while back also.
Just a few more days and I'll be back in beautiful Az and finally see the Car. Its been 6 months sice I last saw her. Cant wait! Thanks for checking back!
