Thanks bro!!

Preciate' you checking back. Sucks the old girl is 500 miles away but ill get her done soon. Thanks

WOW!!! Man I really appreciate the love on the project brother! Hoping to have some updates soon. Im planning a trip out to Az next week so I can start the frame pull. Ill have some new updates soon..

The club prez and fellow member headed out to snatch the Bu from the painter. He got all the bolts taken care of and Mel got the bu back to the storage for me. They are gonna turn the car around so the frame pull will be easier. No real updates other than the bolts are fixed and its back in the storage unit. Im headed out there next tuesday morning after work (3am) and should arrive in AZ by 7-8am ish and the fun begins!!

Malibu is looking really good. Love the front bumper as well. I think I am going to get one that style for my Cutlass. Really liking the the color too. Was thinking of doing a few shades darker.

Mel snatched me a floor shift steering column from a monte ss. I cleaned it and SEM painted it up. (landau black) Steadfast column cover to be installed soon..

Paint was still wet in these pics. It dried up to a nice oem sheen. Pretty happy with the outcome..

I had the dash done by Polo's uhpolstery out in LA. Came out clean for the $350 I paid then. He did my dash for my elco project and seats also. Quick pic of those..

FINALLY! headed back to Arizona next month to get some work done on the old girl. I gotta send a STOOOOOPID shout out to my club brother Jerry AKA DemonChild and club Prez Elco Mel out there for yanking all the suspension off the frame for me. Fam i really appreciate that!! I was gonna have the frame re-notched for a 12" wide wheel, but I had it notched already and would hate to spend more loot on it for the same thing. I can use that cash towards my SS notch, and run the wide wheel on that project. last trip I had separated the frame, cleaned up the "shop" and tried to get things in order for me for my next trip down. The fellas handled it for me, and now I can focus on gettting some bracing added and weld up the frame seam. After that, its headed in for powder coat and then I'll make a quick trip back out to get the frame back under the car.. Nuff talk..

Did some polishing after I separated the body. I cleaned out the storage, bought a nice tool box, filled it with needed tool and got one of those thin show car covers to keep the dust in check..

Got the body up...I set the frame on casters so I could roll it out..

Wassup brother!!! I'm still here family. Making small moves on the projects when I can. The Bu is just a "team building" thing when I go out to Az. We all grab some wrenches and do whatever and chop it up on whats going on with us. It grew and grew and is now the beast it has become lol! The SS is chillin in the garage--waiting to get the frame finished on the Bu and then once its back under the car, we can swap--bu comes to Cali and the SS goes to AZ for paint. That way I can concentrate on getting the bu dialed in before dropping the LS in. The El is at my painters. Had to remove it from the property cuz my neighbor called the peoples on me. I said all good. Ill get her painted, drop that 355 in there and open those headers while I back in the driveway after work at 3am erday.. Should have some updates on the bu soon. Headed out there next week...

That's west up,carry on captain;) and I'd open the bct up at 2:47 lol.

YESSIR!! 2:47AM on the DOT!! lol! Hope you had a cool Christmas bro!

Hope everyone had a chill christmas with fam and friends. Still here making some moves on the 78 Bu I call the #dtoxBu. Last trip to Az my club bro's removed all the suspension and slid the frame out for me. Really appreciated that fellas! We are at a stand still because or frame fab guy was hurt BADLY while doing some work for another customer. He's not taking any other work right now. So the bu is just sitting. My prez is looking for another spot to do the frame re-notch for me. BUT! In the mean time in between time, I picked up an 03' LQ4 6.0 to do a budget build on. This will be a turbo project so Ive been researching and using the search fuction big time. Started ordering parts for the build..

LS2 lifter trays
LS7 lifters
LS9 headgaskets
LS3 water pump (2010)
ARP bolt kit
LSBrackets.com Brackets
Setback plates (ebay)
317 heads-Currently at the shop getting cleaned up, valve job and a slight mill so they mate up nicely.

This will be a turbo build. Still up in the air if it will be single or twins (#twinsfortheWins!!) Currently leaning towards a LJMS stage 2 turbo cam kit(springs, pushrods ect) and will call them to give up some info o the car, weight, rear, gears ect). Should be a cool learning experience. Nuff talk! Here's some pix and flix. I set my Holley intake on top to see how I liked it...

Went with the 2010 LS3 water pump cuz i wanted the outlet on the driver's side. I hate the snaked hose all over the front of the bay.

Got the Hi Ram all painted up. Gotta redo the lettering--I got a lil ahead of myself and didn't wait til I got some fine tipped paint brushes. Used a Q tip. But the little "areas" can be fixed later... Came out cool..

Used VHT etching primer and Satin Black "Roll Bar and Chassis Paint"

31299197434_fb2a4ebb97_c.jpg

Mocked up the MSD coils..

31299197424_1b2aca797c_c.jpg

Painted up the LS3 water pump and dropped the 12 point polished ARP bolts in. I got a set for the intake, but they were super long. Matched up a valve cover bolt to the studs that came with the intake and they were the same size. Picked up another set- I'll be 2 bolts short and will use the studs proved with the intake on the back holes and paint em black...

ARP 12 points for a little detail on the intake. I have an idea for the top hat. I may get some longer bolts so they poke thru the top a touch. Then find some small pointy screw on spikes and polish em up. Just to see how it looks..

2010 LS3 water pump AC Delco p/n 251734-- This pump has "truck spacing"

317 heads should be here today hopefully before I head in to work. Also waiting for the BRP oil pickup girdle and LS Brackets bracket to show up. Looking at getting an MTI Racing billet belt tensioner. Pretty solid looking piece. I'll keep the updates coming....Thanks for checking back...

317's came in from the machine shop and looked great! Cleaned, multi angle valve job and a slight mill. The exterior was a lil rough but they have been painted up with some VHT high temp black... I used my Holley efi intake to hold em up while painting..

VHT high temp primer. cleaned with some acetone and degreaser (rustolium)

LQ4 got the same treatment. It had a nice paint on it, but the finish wouldnt match so a cleaned it all up and primered/prepped for the VHT treatment...

Re sprayed the GMPP custom valve covers to match the block and Holley Hi Ram. I had -10an bungs welded in and baffled as well as some nutserts so my Katech coil pack holders would work with the GMPP covers

All dressed in black. This is just a mock up. I still need to swap the 317's over, muscle car oil pan and other painted stuff. I left the 862 heads on so I could paint the block and keep the mating surfaces clean. It also gives me a nice mock up of it all black...

Waiting on the go fast goodies to arrive, ARP head stud kit, and a few other parts so I can button it all up..
