83 SS bench to bucket and column to console questions...

I personally like aftermarket seats but nice ones are pricey but so is also finding a nice set of factory buckets that are not beat up and match the color and style of your current interior.
For my Monte I did a color change from gray to camel and bought the buckets first and made everything else match those.

I have the 83 SS blue/white bench and rear seats so I think I am going to do these for the front and keep the blue/white rear seats and new blue carpet and blue console

So your plan is to have Procar make matching bucket seats for your one year only blue and white interior?
So like this with their bucket seats, I am curious what they charge for this.

I would look cool if it did match, I would see how much more it is anyways to do them in two tone.
It's probably still cheaper that what I paid for my buckets and extra material along with having my rear seat and visors reupholstered to match.

565bbchevy is on it...one thing i didnt see mentioned is whether you have the full bench, or split bench (most likely this one). If split...then you don't need to worry about buying, then welding in the inner side bucket floor mounts.

On my cutlass...i switched from column to floor shift due to havingthe same problem as you with the linkage hitting the header. I put a hurst vmatic in years ago. When i started my resto, i smoothed the nub off of the column so it would appear as a "floor shift column". I put aftermarket buckets in, and scored a monte console and bucket sliders from a yard years back. I measured the location of console floor mounts a thousand times before cutting them out of the said donor.

With very little mods, i was able to bolt the sliders to my buckets, mounted the console brackets, modified the shifter plate to clear the hurst, and voila!!! Once done the interior will look factory, minus the buckets...and i intend to have my back seat and door panels redone to match the buckets.

He said it's a full bench so he needs the inner mounts also.

You will still need to weld in the inner floor mounts regardless of what kind of bucket seat or brackets you use.
