Hunt on ebay for the inner seat floor mounts. I usually see them for around $80 or so. Yeah it sucks, but you will be much happier with buckets!!!

Get sliders mounted to the seats, then set them in the car to determine the exact mounting location...tack 'em. Remove the seats and burn 'em in.

but now if i do the procar seats dont i not need to get the bucket monte mounts as I use this instead ? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-81182
When you buy an aftermarket seat they typically only come with "sliders" that move the seat back and forth and the seat adapter bracket mounts to those and are designed to adapt to whatever the application is so it mounts like a factory seat bolting to your original studs coming out of the floor so you still need the inner mounts and the brackets along with the seats and sliders.

got it !

now lets talk shifters... would like a ratchet style console shifter in a stock console... read good things about the hurst v-matic 3 ? anyone have any experience with that and making it fit ? All of the DIY threads I found on this are old and the pictures are long gone 🙁

Is the plan to use a factory Monte SS console?

The Monte's have a removeable shifter plate that would have to be modified for your new shifter, I don't have the Monte center console so I don't know exactly what would be involved on the Hurst shifter installation but should be just basic fabrication.

gotcha yeah i assumed that it would be some minimal trimming involved...

whats a good shifter? I heard good things on that and the B^M ...im really at a loss cause this is my first auto car...well ever lol

Everyone has there own taste in shifters for me I am a B & M Megashifer fan and like how it rachets and locks into each gear with my reverse valve body on my Monte.

I know the B&M megashifter is a good shifter. The hurst vmatic 2...now the 3, I've had for 10ish years with no issues. It has the ratchet mode as well. All i did was position correctly when i mounted the console....added 1 " spacers to the rear mounts of the shifter for it to clear the console lid when in 1st gear.

I used the shifter boot metal plate as the template on the monte shifter plate, and carefully used my bodysaw to open up the plate to clear the shifter mechanism.

Once finished off it will look similar to 565's.

This is the best pic i have of it installed right now...

cool guys thank you for the input... whats the deal with the quarter shifters and stuff??

so im reading the specs on various shifters and process of elimination, i want a reverse manual valve body style trans soon so i obviously want my shifter to wrok with that. one of the B*M say it doesnt.

The hurst looks nice because it is a ratchet and regular it seems. versus just one or the other
