Looking good Ken. I plan on driving the wheels off my 70 S next year as well. The custom Qjet you built for me on a maybe 325 HP Olds 350 with a 2300 stall 2004R with 2.78 gears till I decide, more like afford a 3.42 or 3.90 posi for the type O rear end. Keep her coming, I am jealous.

thanks! let me know how the qjet works out for you. If it needs any tweaking, has any issues, I stand behind all my work. Is the S on the classic Olds site with pics?

Today I braved the cold front to finish the engine bay hookups.

Fired the engine up and all is well!.....excepting the heater control valve leaking all over the place.

So I am back on the CCC with the original 17084554 qjet and A4 intake, which makes me happy.

A couple things of the emissions variety are missing - I need the bracket that holds the EGR solenoid on the intake. Or maybe Ill fabricate one. Then Ill mount it and do the vacuum plumbing.

I am missing the heater vacuum reservoir. Does anyone have a pic of where that mounts?
Also missing - the canister purge valve.

SO I made a Rockauto order for the heatervalve, vac reservoir, and purge valve. Should be able to wrap it up soon.

On another note - I will be contacting Discount Tire Direct for a set of 4 new tires come spring - any suggestions on size? I was thinking 235 or 245 60 15s

Still need a decent driver quality steering wheel

You bet it is. Here are a few.

The interior was full of mice, doing the carpet and back seat this summer. It looked like this.

I think my upholstery work turned out quite decent.

On the vacuum ball location, PM 83hurst#1812 for a picture. He owns an extremely original survivor.

For the heater vacuum reservoir I believe it hangs off the heater/ac box. There is a little built in bracket for it.

I looked at an underhood picture of an 83 H/O that looks pretty correct and I don't see it, which is why I made the suggestion I made above. In this pic the pink vacuum line looks like it is running to the front????

That's where the vacuum ball is on some models. I've seen them in many places. Driver side, passenger side, up on the ac box, etc. Mine was on the driver's side for the crusie control. That has an Olds 307 in it, so the battery is on the driver's side.

Awesome, everyone mods these cars. People forget Olds was the first with a 180 hp 5L V8.

I do have a vacuum ball on the drivers inner fender, rearward of the wash bottle. I assumed it was for the cruise setup. The heaterbox vacuum line wouldn't reach there.

I have seen the A/C box bracket....there is an A/c cutoff switch relay there, as shown in the Chassis Manual. I couldn't find the vacuum ball location in the manual.

The pink vacuum line I have looks exactly like that one running to the front. I will check there for a ball too. Thanks!
