Thanks fellas! Yeah its my daily driver. And its parked outside. I did a little work on the bedliner today. I hit 4 different spots up and could not find any Hurculiner. I did the bed last year with hurculiner and loved the results. Well I got a kit from Dupli color. I should have just kept looking. Luckily i had a nice textured pattern from the hurculiner laid on. The DuPlicolor applicator sucks! The trucks bed flooring had not been done yet, and I tried to build it up using the Dupont stuff. Sucks! The Kevlar liner mix is nice, and it dries in a nice satin finish. Imma hit the paint spot up and see if I can find a roller thats like the Hurculiner roller. I ended up using the brush supplied with the kit and just went over the Hurculiner and freshened it up. Looks cool. I'll have to get some daytime photo's up tomorrow. I also took the tint off the 3rd brake light for a brighter output...

Scuffed the flooring up. I also scrubbed the hell out of the old Hurculiner. I used "TSP", Purple Power and then I hit the carwash up and used their degreaser. Then I let it air dry and sanded the paint with 80 grit. blew it down and wiped it up with some acetone....

This is what it looked like after i did the Hurculiner last year. Came out nice. I liked the way the Hurc laid out..See how shiny it came out?

Cleaned the tint off the 3rd brake light. Made a huuuge difference

Not worried about the flooring since the rubber mat will cover it. Again...If you are looking to do a home roll on kit, go with Hurculiner. If you use the Duplicolor setup, get a different roll on applicator..The Kevlar stuff in theDuplicolor is nice tho. mixed up smoothly. And it has a nice satin finish. The hurc was a little too shiny for what I wanted....Imma break the buffer out in the morning and giver her a nice few coats of polish , swirl remover and carnauba (sp?)...

Dayside pics. Nothin beats the look of a sprayed on liner, but this works cool... This is a lil work truck and the bed was all banged up and chipped paint. Definetly cleaned things up...I like the satin finish the Duplicolor "Kevlar" mix has. The Hurculiner was really shiny. Now if I want to shine it up I can spray a lil low gloss "armor all" on. Then wash off and return to the satin....

Ive been lookin at my Dakota gauges and it seems pretty easy to setup. I have a multimeter and all I need to find are the brake (-), high (+), left (+), right (+) and hook up my gear indicator kit. All the other hookups are plug and play . The new Dakota kits are 100% solid state hookups with water proof plugs. Much improved over the Dakota setup in my SS...That will be a weekend project. SHouldnt take more than 4 hours to do.

good sh*t bro that herculiner came out nice!!

Thanks fam! This is the Duplicolor liner. It has Kevlar mixed in. I love the satin finish over the Hurculiner high gloss finish. Only prob with the Duplicolor was the applicator. It basically sucked. I tried to do the elco's floor with the roller Duplicolor supplied and the results were terrible. The Hurc roller is far better. If I can get a Hurc roller, I can do the flooring over. Since the sides were already done in hurculiner, the "texture was already there. I just "freshened" things up a bit... I think next weekend Imma install the Digital dash. I laid the kit out and it seems pretty straight forward....We shall see...

I got the Hurculiner from Autozone. Kit was around $80. Only thing I didnt like about the hurc was how shiny it was. Really simple to apply. Like with all these projects you gotta really prep the surface. When You are ready to do it I can swing thru. We can tape the car off and get her done. Since my El is a daily driver (when I say daily bruh i mean EVERY day) I cant have her down. Gotta get to work. Nothing really gets done that's gonna take more than a weekends time. If the project seems like it will take longer, cant do it. I did the suspension and used my lady's ride. But I hated doing that. I might try to install the gauges this weekend. We shall see... I have been working on my spare tire rack...

Mocked up my wheel using some wood and took a few measurements. Then I took the square tubing to work and used an old machine called a Kalamazoo to make the cut...

Then I sandblasted the tubing..

5621712228_ef53b37b04_b.jpg

You can see I also added some "bed hooks" to the front and rear corners. Nothing special but I like the look..

Gotta take the mat out and see where i want to drill the holes for the nut/bolt setup. Taking the piping back to work and getting it welded up. I'm just gonna use a front rotor and weld that onto the aquare tubing. Then have some "gossets" welded to each side of the tubing and 1/4" base for strength. My boy did this years ago and it worked out sweet.. Coming togehter cool tho..
