None of those are weak in the sense the 7.5 is. The 7.5 is just a derpy rear end meant to get 180hp to the ground. These rears will eat themselves alive if you try to put any power to them. If you do have 410hp, I'm surprised yours has lasted this long. The one's I listed are the most common swaps people do for these cars. The easiest by far is the GM 8.5. It bolts in 100%. The only thing you may need is the driveshaft from the donor car.

Yes. The GNs had a factory 3.42 ratio in the 8.5 rear end and also had that 200r4. The 442 cutlass had a 3.73.

how about the s10 8.5 i found one with 373
Never heard with an S10 with an 8.5, but I guess it makes sense. Trucks need beefier axles. The insides will not swap. The housings won't bolt in either without mods.

its from a 2000
Reguardless of year, they won't swap housing for housing without mods, and the insides except maybe the axles if its a rwd won't swap over into the 7.5.

how about a 71 442 rear axle?
Back then BOP still used a different rear end than Chevrolet did. The Chevy rears are the only ones that fit. They bolt in almost directly. UMI makes control arms to bolt them into our cars.

Look, the Moser axles and a Camaro posi work just fine.

I have tortured that set up in the past and will do it on my big block driver car again shortly.
