98~05 Blazer brake upgrade! DONE!

Wow, that all looks really good.

So let me set it straight. You CAN use either (S10 or Blazer) but it is recommended to use a regular Chevy "Blazer" for the dual piston setup. I will purchase the following

Junkyard = Spindles & Dustcover from the Chevy Blazer.
Auto Parts Store = Rotors, Calipers, Hub Assembly, Brake Pads, DOT 3 or 4 Fluid

Is there a modification that needs to be made to utilize the C5 Caliper & Rotor upgrade on the blazer parts?

Thanks,
Martin

The s-10 and blazer are different but front end looks the same. In 98 chevy made s10 designation fir the pick up and blazer for the suv. Before 98 it was s10 pick up and s10 blazer.

So you will need 98-05 2wd blazer spindles set up with the dual piston calipers.

Kore-3.con has the brackets to adapt the c5/6 calipers without mods. Some vettes had the z51 package that has 13.5 inch rotors which require18"inch wheels. Base c6 and base or z06 c5 vettes have the 13 inch rotors but require at least 17 inch wheels. Kore 3 had a template to check for wheel clearance.

With the blazer wheels you can run most factory 16 inch wheels and some 15 inch wheels.

NO, the S10 got the same metric single piston brakes and spindles the Gbody has. However the 2wd Blazer and only the S10 Extreme got the larger rotors and dual piston caliper brakes ( making this an excellent upgrade for the gbody ).
To make things confusing though when searching car-part.com you have to search for the S10-Blazer Body Style which adds to the confusion. Just make sure they are from a 98-03 2wd Blazer and you will get what you need 🙂

I never used them but I used the auto zone ceramic pads and zinc slotted rotors

Dual piston calipers are blazer specific. base model and xtreme. all pickups are single piston same as g body. base and xtreme. all the xtreme package consisted of was wheels, bilstien shocks, drop springs and a body kit.

question to the OP or anyone who has done this swap. i want to get the steel braided lines. would i buy them for the montecarlo or for the blazer?

I'm reviving this thread from the dead.
I'm looking to purchase new bearing hubs. I'm not sure if mine are really bad. I actually pumped grease into where the ABS sensor wire goes into. They feel much tighter, not that they spun freely. They felt pretty snug before. I'm wondering if I should take a chance reusing them, or just go with new?

Anyhow, what recommendations do you guys have regarding bearing/ hub replacements?
I'm on a budget and can't go for high priced Timkens, etc.
