Those repair kits leak almost every time. The removal tool is cheaper. Just Google AC orifice removal tool.I worked on it some more. I got a few more pieces out, but no big pieces. I rather not rebuild the a/c box right now. I have other things I would rather work on. If I replace the evaporater I might as well replace the heater core, and then there is the gaskets! Sounds like a hole can of worms to me. When I looked on Rockauto for evaporators I seen they sell a evaporator repair kit. Looks like you cut off the tube where the orfice tube is and replace it with a splice tube. Not saying that is a good option, but shows there is a problem getting the orfice tubes out. I will keep trying to get it out and if I mess the tube up, I know what I will have to do.
That is exactly what I did! Thank you for the advice and every one else.seeing that you've got a broken one on your hands,try screwing a long dry wall screw into the brass center,hit it w/some lube and see what happens
Nope I don't!Have to remember that one if all else fails. Don't you like some of those easy jobs that turn into hours - days.
