In my experience 18” wheels will have more tire options. I have 17” and I’m a bit limited but that has a lot to do with how wide I need. 315’s on 11” wide is what I have and yes they stick out

Ya it's not a drag car by any means. But to be able to grip and go would be my goal.
I would just go with a 15" drag radial, I personally like M/T"s and the largest I have ran on a stock suspension/ no frame notch Gbody is 275/60 on a 15" x 8' rim with no sticking out or rubbing issues.

I wish mine were the 15x8 style......maybe I will just throw some bigger new tires on the back and see what happens

Traction on the street will always be a problem. You will have to do some investigation of tires to find a happy medium for your needs between a racing compound and your street use. This was my first year running drag radials and was really impressed - doubt I go back to slicks. If you haven't already suspension work will help greatly.

Haven't touched suspension yet.....i have intentions of doing transmission upgrades and control arms this winter. Should do shocks as well

Beware once you get some wider, stickier tire,s on that puppy it really put,s a strain on the rear gears and axles , once you approach the 500 ft lbs of tq you would be ahead of the game to line up a 8.5 and have it ready !

It will be nice to see what the difference will feel like with nice tires. So I can fit any 275 60 on a 15x7? Also my my current rear is 3.42 but eventually will throw in a 3.73 when that breaks
