The Fram info goes back to the late 90's online test on the Mini Mopars site. It's a shame that the manufacturer did not pay attention to complaints.
I typically use AC Delco's on most of my vehicles. I have also used the STP filters from Autozone. My daily driver 05 Grand Am GT has almost 300k miles on it switching between the AC Delcos and STP filters. No issues with either. I seem to go more to AC Delco when possible as my thinking is that if GM will warranty their engines when using them then thats good enough for me.
I have also used Wix/Napa filters on my Corvair (they are one of the only companies making filters for them).
Purolators and Motorcrafts and Mobil 1 are also decent from my experience.

Not trying to start any oil filter wars but for anyone using the Purolators I'd highly recommend finding something different. Just google "tear-olator" or "Purolator tearing". The media tearing is a pretty well documented issue. I'd use a Fram orange can before a Purolator.

And I used to love Purolators. They were a great filter for the money. Before the media tearing issue, I ran the gold textured Purolators on my Camry almost exclusively. Mann-Hummel has acquired both Wix and Purolator in the past couple years and there still isn't much word on whether or not that has affected the quality of any of the brands.

If you don't care about names, Hastings and Baldwin are great low buck filters.

I'll probably just keep reusing this one on my BBO stuff. Paint still looks pretty decent and I just really like the 70s font.

Napa GOLD all the way. THIS IS ONLY my opinion! They are made very well, have one of the best anti drain back vales, use an actual coil retaining spring, not a piece of cheap crap tin! The filtration and micron rating is also perfect and compatible with synthetic oil. To me, its not about opinions, but actual test results, because unlike opinions, math does not lie. NAPA GOLD FOR ME!

Ive never had a fram or any other filter give me problems that you couldn't blame on lack of maintenance. Maybe im just lucky.

The oil in my 03gmc is clean (not black on the stick) After 5000km regularly and have gone as high as 7 just because ive forgotten or whatever... now with 230000kms on it it still stays clean.

Im not sayin this is the case here, however ive often gotten curious about how many heat/cool cycles some of these "defective" filters have been exposed too.. or shabby-tree wrench bender installing one that "fits just fine" and seals etc etc however is missing something essential ie an internal bypass valve. Often will be an identical looking filter but the budget model fram, napa or whatever your posion/brand lacks this...

anything i care about , or is going to spend time above 5000rpm gets a Hastings or Baldwin or the like. if your changing it regularly i go to walmart and use the wix webpage for reference and buy anything on clearance. changing them often isn't an issue when their 3 bucks.

On another note the abortion that is the V6 and small overhead cam v8 dodges are GARBAGE.. usually its a failure in the coolant expansion tank that equals low coolant level...then air in the head and a warped/cracked head or head-gasket situation. Tried to do headgaskests for young lady that got bamboozled into buying one and the kit of a halfdozen unicon spacers and the like to take the valve-train apart was double what a good used engine was worth... same as ford v8s now all built to be disposable.
