I don't like it, partly because the Cadillac envisioned as the "base" for this car didn't give the artist much to work with ... I think it tries to replicate too many design details of the Grand National -- exposed dual headlights, rear quarter windows, front grill -- while not giving a modern take on things that made the Grand National so recognizable, like the long flat hood & short rear deck. Also, the profile back of the A-pillar reminds me of a '80s Fox-body Mustang, not a positive in my book

My daily driver is a throwback to the Grand National. 2003 Regal GS.

I am glad they did not call it a Grand National. It is it's own breed. The newer GS's are referred to Grand National's more.

I vote no on the GN retro concept. It looks like it rear-ended a new Prius and some of the 'angry car' plastic bric-a-brac transferred.

At least the Bandit retro looks sort of familiar.

I love those things. Buddy of mine had a really rusty one that he got for cheap and used as a work beater. We had a blast with it at the flashlight drags. I've wanted one ever since.

I think Mustang has done the best at keeping the original look. I think they learned their mistakes with the Mustang II
Not that its the case with you, but, I never really understood the hate for the mustang II but the relative love for the fox body. Both relatively equal turds IMO that need flushing. At least the notch back coupes were something, but it was almost just an escort clone.

As far as mistakes being learned? Not so much apparently (cite to the "mustang" mach e)

You guys are talking about an automaker that doesn't even want to build CARS anymore, let alone a 2 door. Why would they spend the tooling money to sell 10000 units at a price twice the projected MSRP by the time it would make production.

"USA" automakers are about the money, not the love of the automobile anymore.
Perfectly said!!! You nailed it! Its all about the green and not about the machine 🙁
