Battery to starter cable routing?

I used a longer positive cable from a Caprice on my Malibu and ran the cable along the oil pan rail to the starter. The good thing is I don't have to remove the cable to remove/install the headers. There is also enough length to the cable that allows me to disconnect the cable from the starter easily.

I would run it through the car under the rug. And then at the firewall put the hole in line with the starter and be inside all the header tubes.

I ran mine under the carpet and through the firewall but I use a ford style solinoid so there are no hot wires running close to the headers

i dont have pics at the moment.i as well have the battery in the trunk.i have them running from the trunk behind the back seat under the carpet and they run in the channel where your floor seal plate is then they run out of the lower fire wall on the drivers side.didn't want the wires exposed under the car.

I was able to route it through the frame and protect it with some heater hose then back between motor mount to the starter. Away from all heat sources. Thanks to injected cutty for the tip
