If you have a levine auto parts by you they can modify your drive shaft if you give them the dimensions.
I dont know of a Levine Auto Parts. I have Overland Driveshaft. They told me roughly 100bucks cut and balanced, 150 if I ask for new ujoints.
Does that sound fair? It better be or 10% mark up for them guys lol. Actally thats what the guy at the desk said Ill bet if I speak to one of the other guys I can get hooked up a little better

Wheres the car show. This saturday is my daughters birthday party bbq. If my family from New York stays over I probably wont be able to go anywhere. But if they decide to do it as a day trip then I might. Thanks for the info on the driveshaft.
Be nice if I came across one already done so That I can do the swap in one day and not let the car sit at all. but we'll see.

Well I didnt think to ask this before, I have a 3 speed column (obviously), I saw a cutlass today with a 700r4 swap and a 3sp column. He said PRND is fine he just cant get it into 1 if he wanted too? I thought the 3speed column would be an issue with the 4sp trans. Thats why I was just going to try to eliminate it out of the equation, wiring the reverse and neutral switch to an aftermarket shifter?
Any thoughts?

I've got all the parts to do a 700r4 swap in my 84 to replace the stock 3spd auto on the column, you just will not be able to manually shift into 1st gear but it will work fine for all the other gears.

Thats good to know. I would like to do it all in one shot but maybe I can install the trans and worry about shifter and wiring at a later time.

Ya getting the trans in itself is first and foremost, then you can sort out the other details.
