Best Trans for the job?

Ya getting the trans in itself is first and foremost, then you can sort out the other details.

Getting the Trans in should be easy. I would like to have as much in place with my swaps, I have had more than my fair share of cars that I took apart and had them sit way too long. I have had cars that sat apart more than they were driven by me anyways. I dont want to do that again if I dont have to.
The trans should be a quick one day start to finish, minus having the driveshaft modified.

I hear you, I've got a 93 Fox Mustang that has been torn apart in the garage for over 3 years now so I have been trying to keep the downtime on the el camino to a minimum where possible lol.

So I was just told something I never new. Im going to try to verify this but I was just told that the grand national stock converter has a roughly 2100 or 2200 stall and is a mechanical lock up converter. So basically if I under stand correctly the converter it self mechanically locks up whenever its designed to and doesnt need any electronics to do it.
Does anybody here ever heard this before?

I've not worked with a 200-4r but the b&m lockup kit I just bought for the 700r4 can also be used on the 200-4r so I'd assume it is also electronic lockup as well.

I have a 700r4, from what I was told the electronic lock up was eliminated so if bought a lock up controller it wouldnt do anything. I dont really need the lock up, Im really just curious if that was true about the grand national converter. Might be something I would do in the future
