Craigslist idiots are the worst...

I thought about selling my Cutlass a while back, had it posted up for $6,000 just to see if there was any bites, had one guy text me and ask what my bottom dollar was, and I replied back about $5,000. He says oh man, yea I don't have that much, so figuring the guy was inquiring about a car listed for $6,000 I asked how much he had, he said I have like $2,000!!!!! Why even bother trying to call on a car listed for three times what you have in cash?

People that respond to a craigslist posting and say they will be there at whatever time then either never show or are two hours late without letting me know.

Every time I stop at a gas station I get random people asking questions about the Cutlass, but by far the most annoying is the same as has already been discussed here... "Does that have the 442 in it"? Makes me want to punch people :blam:

I hate in when people call my Hurst something its not. It has been referred to quite a few times as a Monte Carlo... a Buick and even once a Cadillac. I also hate it when and this has happened more times then I can count, someone standing a few feet from the car in full view of the name plate asks me about my 442. or if it has a 442 in it. I also had a kid in a new charger refer to my car as an old boat??

Man, I love how the negativity just keeps coming  .

I used to DD a '35 Ford pickup and had a couple favorites:
One afternoon I pulled in to a Subway and was the only customer. The guy behind the counter asked me what year. I said, "'35".
"Are you sure?", he asks.
"Um, yeah. I'm pretty sure."
He then proceeded to argue with me that that's not possible because his buddy used to have one but the headlights were in the fenders, so I had to be wrong. I didn't bother trying to defend myself.

Another super-common occurrence was the random friendly stranger. That, in itself, just goes along with driving an older or unusual vehicle. The part that got really old was, "I used to have one just like that...but it was red...and a '61...and a Dodge...4X4...station wagon...convertible...diesel." I just learned to bite my tongue, smile, and nod.

I had a guy come look at my datsun 280Z that i put on craigslist. What a mistake. He came to my house and the first thing i notice is that he had a huge *ss hunting knife strapped to the front of his belt with his hand constantly on it. Then the guy proceded to walk around my car saying it was full of filler because he is a ''bodyman'' even though the filler wasnt there. period. He then offers me a grand under the price i originally said was my bottom dollar after i had dropped it from my posted price. When my wife spoke up and said that was sh*t, he went on to tell her that this was a mans discussion and that she should stay out of it. He didnt get the car and is lucky i didnt put my 12 gauge up his tail. I dont get why morons act the way they do. Oh and to top it off he was buying the car for his ''nephew'' deployed in afganistan

What a jagoff. Walking around with a knife like that screams "arrogant asswipe", pardon my French.

"What size lift kit you got in there?" Refering to both my jeep, and the eagles. There is no "kit", it is not a bolt on jcwhitney big gay truck in a box. People have have tried to convince me that I lifted the eagles. No one believes me when I tell them they actually sit lower than they should, haha.

"I gotta PO440 on my chevy, advance auto told me so, what do I need to fix it?"
A proper diagnosis. :blam:

What year is your Buick? Refering to the malibu of course, I've been telling people for ten years, it's a "Chevrolet". I don't even bother correcting anymore, I just let them think I have a Buick Malibu.

"Ford made the inline 6 for Jeeps, and Jeep made AMC" I just walk away at the point.

This one boils me over.
"If I give you a VIN, can you make me a key?"
If you provide valid proof of ownership, and a drivers license, yes.
"I don't have it, can't you just do it from the VIN?"
Right, like I'm going to cut a key for a vehicle, just because you say it's yours but refuse to show me proof.
"Do you know who I am?"
Nope and I don't care, nor does GM, no paperwork, no key.
"I've never been given an issue before!"
Well, go back to them then, oh right, you can't, they lost their job because of sh*t like this.

The two 4.0 engines ford made had 362 hp with 406 lbs of torque and 416 hp and 417 lbs of torque. I have a 4.0 in my jeep and I can honestly tell you it sure doesn't even feel like 1/2 of 362 hp

That's one I haven't heard before. So, who made the 4cyls, Honda  ?

AMC built the gutless 2.5 inline4 ( gm design IIRC ) then added 2 more cyl and called it the 4.0 Inline6.
GM supplied the 2.8's and Renault donated the 4cyl Diesel.

My 86 Comanche had the 2.5 and it sounded like a diesel LOL what a gutless little pig it was but it never left me stranded !!
