And once again I've proven that sarcasm is hard to type. I see a couple of those 4cyl Jeeps per week at the shop so I'm pretty familiar with them. Although it's been awhile since I've seen a 2.8 in a Cherokee, i replaced several in the mid '90s (and countless Blazers). They were barely capable of surviving in a street driven 2wd S10 -- let alone dragging drunk buddies out of mud holes. IMHO one of the worst corporate engine choices ever.

I caught it, mine was meant to be a smart assed but truthful statement, . Last 2.8 cherokee I saw was in the local u pull it, it donated a door to my green one, lol. The 3.4 gm offers for the s-10's plagued with the 2.8 might be a good swap option for one though.

:hijack: <-- I hate when that happens, .

"Is it a car or a truck?"
My fellow El Camino drivers know what Im talking about. Its grown on me though. Friends always give me ish for it. Those ***holes

I caught the sarcasm, I was just did a bad job of alluding to how confusing their vehicles are/were. 😳 They produced some strange offspring with everything from GM, Pentastar, Renault, ect parts holding them together so it wouldnt surprise me too much to see a Honda parts in an AMC.

Let the nit-picking continue.

"What motor you got in there?" Me:It's a 267 "v6?" Me:No it's a v8. "I don't think they made those." :blam:

Subaru kid:"Lets race" Me:No thanks my car is slow. "But its got a v8." Me: yeah a 267 v8. " So... I bet it was fast when it was new." Me: Bet on what you want.

One I've heard a few times is "I got a 350 big block" that's cool `cause no you don't.

I had a "rivalry" if you will with this idiot when I was in high school. My Monte had a stock 350 that outran his 80s Camaro with a 350 also. I will never forget this, he comes up to me and tells me "I got a cam from a 454 in the 350 now so lets race". He was the typical babied kid that had his dad do everything for him. I assume the cam wasnt a 454 cam but a camshaft with a .454" of lift----which still isnt impressive at all. I finished my high school career without losing to him once and he still has the car and last I knew he was getting a 383 built for him. Should be fun when I get my 496 done

My Rambler American was a 330. That's the trim level. There was a 220 that was super basic and also a 440 that had some options. I was asked several times if "still had the 330 in it." I always said yes 😀 .

The best one i heard in person was at a car show.A guy had a 68 ford ranchero showing i over heard a guy talking to the owner of it.The guy asked him why did you cut up a station wagon to make a truck car.I had to walk off to keep from laughing too loud at the idiot.
