olds307 and 403's post - and especially his hood scoop - got me thinking about some of my cars long gone. I didn't want to hijack his thread.

Cutlass1.jpg

This is the only digital pic I have of my 1986 Cutlass. It wasn't my first car (or g body), but it is the one I wish I had back.

Picked it up for $100 in 1997 because reverse didn't work. Replaced the drivetrain with a 350 Olds / TH350, custom built the removable front light covers, added rear air springs - for the big drag tires I never did. I added the scoop from a 1970 Boss 302 being restored at the body shop I worked in (car owner didn't like that it had a chip in it). It was the first car I ever painted, and it was way too nice for what the car was.

Hard to believe it's been 20 years since this pic! What car(s) do you guys miss today?

Some of the ones that got away:

My 1st car, gift from my dad, '83 Cutlass Supreme (stolen Nov. 2, 2005)

One of the cars that I bought to replace my 1st car was this '85 Cutlass Supreme (sold as a roller a few years ago, circa. 2013)

My gift to myself for my 21st birthday was a '94 Impala SS. After 7 paint jobs in 3 years, I sold it in 2010 and vowed to never buy another black car.

My dream car for the longest, '87 MCSS, purchased from a friend in 2011, drove from TX to GA twice, then traded it away in 2012 for something to put my 26s on.

Great thread, had to hop back onto Car Domain which I haven't been on in forever. The only one I let get away was my 93 Saturn SL2. Man I do miss that thing, had a lot of fun and adventures in that baby. Started off as an old mans car with a tow hitch. Then I turned it into an adolescence disaster with dual exhausted cherry bombs, wood grain interior kit, white gauge swap, and blue turn signals.

Great thread............white gauge swap, and blue turn signals.

My '93 Nissan Maxima SE came w/white analog gauges, but I did do the blue turn signal/reverse lights mod too. The local law enforcement in GA wasn't very fond of that mod either.

Is it the high temps down there that kills the black paint jobs?

Nope, terrible drivers and terrible prep work in some cases. Everyone told me that black is the hardest color to spray.

Here is another blast, man I miss this truck, burnt to the ground, I did break even on it at least. The Olds 350 powered 94 Z71.

Yeah these were aftermarket that turned the gauges blue and teal at night. Oh yeah, the police one night made me disconnect them and drive home without turn signals. I played dumb and said I am sorry sir I bought them at Advanced I didn't know it was illegal, he was trying to say I was impersonating a police car.

I should have never gotten rid of my 1999 K1500 Suburban. I still kick myself in the *ss every once in a while for getting rid of it. It ran really well and I had fixed all the rust on it. I replaced the cats and put a Flowmaster 44 on it and it sounded really good.

Did you upgrade from it? I regret mine but had no choice the motor was leaking like a sieve and wasn't worth the money to put into it at the time
